Little Women at Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble

Mackenzie Moyer (she/her) is an actor, writer, and educator born and raised in the Pennsylvania Dutch Mennonite community, who now calls New York City her home. She earned her B.A. in Theatre from DeSales University, and has worked as an actor for Bedlam, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, The 24 Hour Plays, the cell, SoHo Playhouse, Lenfest Center for the Arts at Columbia University, and the Tank. Amy Rene Byrne (she/they) first read Little Women (an abridged version!) at far too young an age, but it was influential in her understanding of literary worlds. She’s honored to bring one of the March women to life on-stage. You may have seen Amy onstage most recently as Miss Dee/Kay in Radiant Vermin, The Animator in A Charlie Brown Christmas, or one her numerous roles in The 39 Steps. May we all seek our inner-Meg by finding steadiness in the people we love and courage in the quiet work of building a life that feels safe and true.

Arrianna Daniels (she/her) is humbled to be returning to the Alvina Krause Theatre. As an artist, her credits include work with People’s Light Theatre, Winnipesaukee Playhouse, the Uptown Collective, and a continued collaboration with the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. Kimie Muroya 室屋季美恵 (she/her/hers) is loving experiencing sisterhood with this delightful cast. She also fondly remembers dressing up as Louisa May Alcott in 6th grade, so perhaps this was destined to be! Kimie is also a founding member of Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists, and has performed regionally with Delaware Shakespeare, Tiny Dynamite, Philadelphia Artists’ Collective, InterAct Theatre Company, Theatre Exile, Montgomery Theatre and more. Heather Chrisler (she/her) is an educator and playwright in Chicago, Illinois. She adapted Little Women in 2018 for her home, First Folio Theatre, due to an abundant love for the novel. Little Women has had productions in theatres in several different states and will make its debut in even more soon. In years past, Chrisler performed as an actor for Goodman Theatre, Victory Gardens Theatre, Writers Theatre and many others. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre from Ohio University. After discovering a love of teaching, however, Chrisler is now working in Special Education. Teaching has not stopped her from writing plays, she recently completed a new adaptation of Jane Eyre, which is currently in the developmental stage. When she is not writing or teaching, Chrisler is spending time with her two year old son, Theodore. He is named for Theodore Lawrence.

Sarah Elizabeth Yorke* (she/her) is a director, producer, actor, and educator currently serving as the Creative Producer at Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble. A native of Pennsylvania’s Coal Region, she holds an MFA in Directing and an MA in Arts Administration from Ohio University, as well as a BA in Theatre Arts from Virginia Tech. With over 50 productions spanning professional, collegiate, and youth theatre, Sarah is known for her innovative, human-centered approach to storytelling, rooted in sensory awareness, radical empathy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her recent directing credits include The Lucky Star, Spring Awakening, Athena, The Little Prince, Concord Floral, and H*tler’s Tasters. A sought-after acting coach and former full-time faculty member at Virginia Tech, she continues to shape the future of theatre through bold artistic leadership, inclusive rehearsal practices, and a deep commitment to developing artists and new voices.

Kate Campbell (she/her) is a NYC-based designer. Recent design credits include: Caesar (Philadelphia Theatre Company); Behind the Mask (American Film Institute); Dad Rock (The Shed); The Baker’s Wife (The Flea); Science Park (The Gym at Judson); Annapurna, Sanctuary City (Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble); Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 (New Studio on Broadway, NYU); Zero Grasses: Ritual for the Losses (National Sawdust); Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Stupid Fucking Bird, Romeo and Juliet (NYU3 Festival); The Revolutionists, The Skin of our Teeth, As You Like It (C5 Festival); Set and Reset / Reset (Purchase College, Conservatory of Dance.) Associate design credits include work for the Metropolitan Opera, Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, Lincoln Center Theater, and numerous off-Broadway theaters. She is an alumni of Purchase College’s Conservatory of Theatre Arts.

Kayla Higbee (she/her) is a costume designer and educator from Kentucky. She has a BA in English from Centre College and an MFA in Production Design & Technology from Ohio University. She has worked with Berkshire Theatre Group as their wardrobe supervisor and Texas Shakespeare Festival as the assistant costume designer. She was also the resident costume designer and costume shop supervisor at Centre College for four years. Recently, she presented her work on empowered fittings for dancers at the North Carolina Dance Education Organization Conference. She also presented at the Southeastern Theatre Conference showcasing her student Leadership Fellow’s research on community outreach for university costume shops. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Performing Arts at Elon University where she teaches costume design, designs several plays, musicals, and dance pieces each year, serves as an Elon College Fellows mentor for multiple disciplines in Theatrical Design & Technology, and is a member of the Performing Arts Department Inclusivity Committee.

Sid McCarty (he/they) is a southern sound designer and theorist from pretty close to Nashville, TN. They use their work to explore identity, belonging, and permission while striving to be expressive, curious, and compassionate. Design credits include “The Center Will Not Hold” (Dorrance Dance); Medea, Imaginary Audiences, Squeakers, What The Gods Gave Me, Concord Floral (Ohio University); Venus in Fur, Merchant of Venice (Great River Shakespeare Festival). Hayley Garcia Parnell (they/she) is a nonbinary, Chicana Lighting Designer from Colorado, currently based in NYC. They are so excited to be back for their 6th (!) production with Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, a place they consider their artistic home. Eleanor Rauschenberg (she/her) is a stage manager currently based in NYC. Her most recent work was as Assistant Stage Manager for New York Children’s Theater’s My First Nutcracker. She holds a BFA from Ohio University, where she stage managed Vibrancy theater’s productions of Bootycandy and We are proud to present..., and worked on several other projects. She also worked for the Actors’ Theatre of Columbus. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Gregor Gunelson is the Scene Shop and Facilities Manager. He received his degree in Theatre and History at St. Cloud State University, MN, with an emphasis in Scenic Design and Technical Theatre. He has had a varied career in scenery and exhibitry, working in the Twin Cities, MN, and Tulsa, OK, before moving to Pennsylvania. Locally, he has worked at Reptiland in Allenwood, The Electric City Aquarium and Reptile Den in Scranton, and The Daytona Aquarium in Florida. He has been very active in the Community Theatre scene in Schuylkill County, as well as refinishing historic homes. He is very excited to be joining a talented team here in Bloomsburg.

Emily Weisgerber is a costume and fashion designer who brings over 20 years of experience to her position as Costume Shop Manager. She began working as a costume designer for Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble in 2009, has supported Bucknell University’s costume shop as a stitcher for two seasons of theatre, opera, and dance performances, and is the Costume Director for Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg where she teaches university level classes in costume design, costume construction, and theatrical makeup design as well as mentoring student costume and makeup designers. Before coming to the Bloomsburg area, Emily worked in a luxury millinery studio in Manhattan, a bespoke dress shop in Hollywood, and another hat shop in her hometown of Seattle. She also started her own brand of hats in 2008, which she sold in six states and in her own store in downtown Bloomsburg. Emily graduated from Alfred University where she earned a BFA with a concentration in sculpture, robotics, and installation. She used soft sculpture, life casting, mold making, and immersive video displays to convey her interest in the body, identity, and the interaction between art and science. She has utilized her background in fine art to educate students in art camps, elementary schools, and university settings, and has had her work featured in group and solo shows. When Emily is not working in theater, she can be found in Endless Records and Books in downtown Bloomsburg, a store she opened with her husband, Nick, in 2010. Their store has moved and grown throughout the years, becoming a vital part of the Bloomsburg community and providing a cultural hub for students, locals, and visitors who love music and literature.
