A rising star with inimitable jazz talent, alto saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin impressed Philadelphia audiences with her radiant performances in our 2022 Coltrane Festival. “Equally melodic and assertive, her sound feels rooted in tradition, yet broad enough to encompass R&B and Latin music.” (The New York Times) Benjamin’s acclaimed 2023 record, Phoenix, received three Grammy® nominations, further cementing her place as one of the best jazz saxophonists of today. And now, by popular demand, she returns to our stage with her dynamic quartet to celebrate a 2025 album release.
