Dance Quilt at Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts' acclaimed Dance Department presents its 2023 Dance Quilt concert!

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Dance Department will present its annual Dance Quilt concert, May 12 & 13, 2023.  This must-see formal concert highlights faculty & guest choreographers as well as outstanding student works that are the culminating event of year-long rehearsals and coursework.  Charter Arts' production of Dance Quilt is specifically woven to showcase all of the school's dance majors and their endless dedication to the art of dance.

Concert director, Jennifer Dite Weaver, defines Dance Quilt as, "An entertaining concert that represents diverse genres of movement that explore current social issues and shared human experiences.  Dance Quilt 2023 is sure to provoke thought, enliven the body, and inspire the soul.”

Evening performances will be held on May 12 & 13 at 7 PM and a matinee performance will be held on May 13th at 2 PM.  Tickets are $5-$10 and can be purchased in advance at CharterArts.org. 

ABOUT THE CHARTER ARTS DANCE DEPARTMENT:

The Charter Arts dance curriculum is designed to educate and accommodate students of all levels, whether it is in the basic elements of training or at the pre-professional level. Students learn self-discipline, physical control, class etiquette, properly executed alignment, and technique through rigorous daily classes. As students’ dance abilities mature, they demonstrate increased individual artistic expression through musicality and quality of movement. The focus is on the refinement and mastery of classical and contemporary techniques. Dance majors gain valuable knowledge and experience from not only the professional teaching artists on the Charter Arts dance faculty but from numerous dance artists who are part of the department's yearly master class series.
