York Little Theatre is proud to produce Henry and Ramona, May 22- 24 and 29 - 31, as part of its rabbittransit children's series, and Columbia Gas 2008-2009 Season. Based on Beverly Cleary's classic books, the story centers on Henry, who lives on Klickitat Street with his dog, Ribsy, and his neighbors and friends, Beezus and Ramona Quimby.

Henry and Ramona is directed by Kimberly Smith and features young local actors Stephen Baker as Henry Huggins, Karissa Dzurik as Beezus Quimby, Hannah Langmead as Ramona Quimby and Molly Holtzinger as Ribsy. Smith, who usually wears the hat of Choreographer, found directing The Cast of Henry and Ramona to be great fun. "I have been working with children for over 20 years," explains Smith. "Beverly Cleary's stories of Ramona Quimby and the many characters that come along with those stories are forever amusing and morally valued," adds Smith. "Her stories show how much children, with helping hands of those around them, will accomplish."

Ramona the Pest makes life hard for Henry while he tries to do important things but the adventures really begin when Henry decides he wants to deliver newspapers. Beezus lends a hand, Ribsy gets underfoot, a boy-genius competes for the route, and Ramona has to save the day. On the ride Henry will rescue abandoned kittens, ride to the dump in a bathtub, get his first bike and learn some great lessons about friendship. "Audiences may find that many of Henry's situations remind them of situations that have touched their own lives."

Performances are at 7 p.m. on May 22, 23 29 and 30 and 3 p.m. on May 23, 24, 30 and 31. All seats are $8 and reserved. Tickets and more information are available at the box office, 11 - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, at 717-854-5715 or at www.ylt.org.
