Auditions for The Drama Group's March 2012 production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST by Oscar Wilde, directed by Angela Anderson, will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, December 13 and 14, in Pilling Hall at the First United Methodist Church of Germantown, 6001 Germantown Avenue, between High Street and Germantown Avenue.

In this classic comedy of manners, two friends, Jack and Algernon, proceed to bend the truth – and bend it more than just a bit – in order to impress Gwendolen and Cecily, the objects of their affections. When each young man pretends his name is Earnest, a name both of their beloveds believe confers special qualities on the possessor of said name, a series of mistaken identies – both intentional and unintentional – ensue. Wilde's timeless masterpiece has been hailed as the wittiest play ever written in the English language. Come see if you don't agree.

Complete character descriptions can be found at www.thedramagroup.org.

Auditioners are asked to prepare a memorized 90 second monologue (no accents). To schedule an audition appointment, log onto dgauditions.info and indicate the evening and time you prefer. Auditions by appointment only. Walk-ins will be seen only if time allows.

The Drama Group is an all volunteer theatre company.
