Hershey Theatre Reschedules Rocky Horror Screening for 11/25
The classic film Rocky Horror Picture Show will be shown at Hershey Theatre on Friday, November 25 at 11:59 PM (midnight). The movie, originally slated for Halloween weekend, was postponed due to snow.
This 1975 cult classic stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O'Brien and Meat Loaf. For fullest enjoyment of the film, a limited number of audience participation bags will be available for purchase.
Rocky Horror Picture Show was the movie that started the midnight-screening craze, inspiring audience members to dress like their favorite characters, sing along, and play with props as the movie dictates. The premise of the movie is far-fetched, with a young couple coming across a haunted castle on a rainy night. The mad scientist who lives there, Dr. Frank N. Furter, is about to embark in a strange experiment, as he unveils his latest creation, Rocky. This R-rated movie is bawdy but engaging, with a devoted fan base that knows the script line for line.
Tickets are $7 for general admission and are available at the Hershey Theatre Box Office, located at 15 East Caracas Avenue in downtown Hershey. Audience participation bags will be $5 each; no outside props will be permitted. Also available are Hershey Theatre six-packs of tickets for $30; these tickets will be valid for the entire 2011-2012 season.
The Box Office will open at 11 p.m. the evening of the film. A concert by Chasing the Unknown, a local rock band, will precede the film at 11:15 p.m.
