Act II Playhouse in Ambler presents the world premiere of Murray the Elf and the Case of the Terrifying Tinsel, a new comedy for kids and their families, from Dec. 21-28, 2013.

Written by Act II's Communication and Education Director Bill D'Agostino, this new play mixes mystery with comedy for an exciting story everyone in the family can enjoy. It is directed by Artistic Director Tony Braithwaite.

The mystery begins when a "Tinsel Monster" is spotted in North Pole. When an old clockmaker disappears, Santa's elves are fearful and stop making toys. Mrs. Claus calls upon Murray the Elf to solve the case, but he'll need the audience's help to save Christmas!

Murray the Elf and the Case of the Missing Mistletoe stars Will Dennis as Murray. Andy Shaw plays all the other characters in this original story, including Mrs. Claus, Rudy the Reindeer, Chilly the Snowman, Clarence the Clockmaker, and the bewitching Candy Kane.

The play is recommended for families with children ages five and older. This is the second "Murray the Elf Mystery," but no knowledge of the first story is needed to appreciate the play.

Tickets for Murray the Elf and the Case of the Terrifying Tinsel are $8 for kids, $10 for seniors (65+), and $12 for adults. There are nine scheduled performances

Tickets are available by calling the Act II box office at (215) 654-0200, in person at 56 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler, or online at www.act2.org. Box office hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
