The Met celebrates the new year with a new production of Bizet's Carmen by acclaimed English director Carrie Cracknell, opening on Sunday, December 31, at 6:30PM. In her highly anticipated Met debut, Cracknell reinvigorates the classic story of deadly passion with a staging that moves the action to modern day and explores themes that could not be more relevant today: gendered violence, abusive labor structures, and the desire to break through societal boundaries.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the Royal Court Theatre/Atlantic Theater Company production of Martin McDonagh's new comedy Hangmen will not resume performances at Broadway's Golden Theatre following the suspension of Broadway on March 12, 2020. The Olivier Award-winning Best Play began performances on Saturday, February 28, 2020, played 13 previews and was scheduled to officially open on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

Last night, February 2, Roundabout Theatre Company opened its new production of John Osborne's Look Back in Anger, directed by Roundabout Associate Artist Sam Gold. The cast features Adam Driver as 'Cliff,' Sarah Goldberg as 'Allison,' Charlotte Parry as 'Helena,' and Matthew Rhys as 'Jimmy'.
