Today marks the 35th anniversary of the A Chorus Line film.  To celebrate this anniversary Concord Theatricals has released a new lyric video for “What I Did For Love” from the original cast recording featuring Priscilla Lopez and the A Chorus Line ensemble.

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) will soon present the third show of its 2017-18 season: the World Premiere of Relevance, written by J. Lee ('How to Get Away With Murder,' 'Looking') with direction by Tony Award nominee Liesl Tommy (Eclipsed).

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey and William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) presented its annual gala, Miscast 2015 Gala last night at The Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center (311 West 34th Street). Miscast 2015 honored two bold and fearless women: Emmy® & Golden Globe® nominated stage and screen actress Sarah Paulson and Tony® Award-winning producer Fran Weissler. Rick McKay, the producer/director of Rick McKay's Broadway: The Golden Age Film Trilogy, just unveiled the last 25 minutes of the 2010 'Six Degrees of Marvin Hamlisch' benefit concert for Fran Liebergall, the original rehearsal pianist and Musical Supervisor of A CHORUS LINE. MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey,William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) presents the New York Premiere of John Pollono's celebrated Small Engine Repair, the comic thriller that premiered to rave reviews and sold-out audiences at L.A.'s Rogue Machine Theatre, where it won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Playwriting, among many other honors. Keegan Allen, James Badge Dale, playwright/actor John Pollono, and James Ransonestar in the production directed by longtime MCC collaborator Jo Bonney (MCC's The Break of Noon, Some Girl(s), Fat Pig). Small Engine Repair begins at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on October 30, 2013. An official opening night is set for November 20, 2013. Ghostlight Records has just announced that Carrie: The Musical - Premiere Cast Recording has debuted atop the Billboard 'Top Broadway' Chart for the week ending September 30th. The official chart lists Carrie: The Musical as the #1 selling album of the week, followed by (in order of sales) Wicked, Bring It On, The Book of Mormon, Once, and Jersey Boys, all shows still running on Broadway, making Carrie's appearance atop the chart a rare feat. Released on Tuesday, September 25th, the immediate chart success of Carrie: The Musical signals the enduring qualities of its 2012 production at MCC Theater (which closed its celebrated run in April 2012) and the dynamic score with music by Academy Award®-winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), lyrics by Academy Award®-winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose), and a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, who also penned the film's screenplay.
