Theatregoers need not travel all the way to the underworld to catch Broadway's latest hit. Hadestown, following runs at New York Theatre Workshop, Canada's Citadel Theatre, and London's National Theatre, opened just last night at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Allegiance - A New American Musical has been eyeing a Broadway run since it premiered at San Diego's Old Globe last fall. Since then, a New York City reading was held, led by Lea Salonga, George Takei and Telly Leung, all of whom starred in the San Diego production; there was also a recent backers screening in Austin. Below, check out 'Paradise' from the new musical, as performed by Marc Delacruz, Katie Boren, Diane Phelan, and Kay Trinidad.

The St. Louis Muny's cast of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, which ran from July 14th through 20th, created a video remix of Beyonce's 'Pretty Hurts.' The remix is very much in the style of the show itself, as each of the actors is clad in creepy, kooky, monster-like costumes.

The World Premiere of the Broadway-bound Allegiance - A New American Musical ended its extended run at San Diego's Old Globe on October 28, 2012. The musical starred television and film icon George Takei, Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga and Broadway favorite Telly Leung.
