ITV is putting on its own live version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE SOUND OF MUSIC this Christmas. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the December 20 live telecast will star Julian Ovenden as 'Captain Von Trapp', Olivier winner Maria Friedman as Mother Abbess, Mel Giedroyc as Frau Schmidt, and Kara Tointon as Maria. Richard Bean's new play Great Britain opened in the West End on September 26,following a sell-out run at the National Theatre. With a cast led by Lucy Punch andRobert Glenister, Nicholas Hytner's production now continues at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in a strictly limited season to 10 January 2015. Stars of stage and screen descended on London's legendary Cafe de Paris, for a bold fundraising event, which saw hot performers get their kit off for charity. Hosted by TVs top fashion guru, Gok Wan - famous for his expert styling in dressing ordinary people up as well as making them look good naked - the event, West End Bares, involved around 100 of theatreland's finest.
