'You can take an audience anywhere...' The wise Hal Prince means those words, and he has built a career off of them. Prince is a legend in the American theatre - the acclaimed director and producer behind a long list of America's most iconic musicals and has brought together six decades of magical moments in a new musical event, Prince of Broadway.

For the first time, Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened  draws back the curtain on the extraordinary drama of the show's creation - and tells the stories of the hopeful young performers whose lives were transformed by it. Directed by Lonny Price, a member of the original cast, the film is a bittersweet meditation on the choices we all make, and the often unexpected consequences of those choices -- through success and failure. Featuring exclusive appearances by Stephen Sondheim, Hal Prince, Jason Alexander, Mandy Patinkin, Adam Guettel, Frank Rich and the original Broadway cast of Merrily We Roll Along.  Below, Richard Ridge chats with Price about his journey with the musical, the creation of the documentary, and so much more!

The Canadian Opera Company launches its 2013/2014 season with a new production of one of the world's greatest love stories, La Bohème. Puccini's masterpiece of youthful flirtation, passionate love and heartbreaking tragedy returns to the COC for 12 performances at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on October 3, 6, 9, 12, 16, 18, 19, 22, 25, 27, 29, 30, 2013. Harold Prince directed the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, She Loves Me, Company, Follies, Candide, Pacific Overtures, Evita, Parade, LoveMusik, and Paradise Found. Before becoming a director, Mr. Prince's productions included The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Fiorello! and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Following the record-breaking and critically acclaimed engagement of 'American Idiot' at the Berkeley Rep, the production is now Broadway-bound. 'American Idiot' will begin previews in March 2010 and open on Broadway in April at the St. James Theatre. The Broadway cast will be announced shortly.
