Scott Alan made his concert debut at 54 Below earlier this week on, January 19th with a slew of Broadway all-star talent, including 2014 Tony winners Jessie Mueller and James Monroe Iglehart, Tony nominees Joshua Henry and Chad Kimball, as well as Lilla Crawford, Erin Davie, Mykal Kilgore, Natalie Weiss, Christine Dwyer, Julian Cihi, Danny Calvert, Elizabeth Stanley, Abby Mueller, Christiane Noll, Jessica Phillips, Lisa Brescia, Ashley Brown, Eden Espinosa, Marcus Paul James, Julia Murney, Marissa Rosen, Christina Cataldo and Galyana Castillo joined Alan. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Broadway stars Julia Murney, Ashley Brown, Michael James Scott, and Josh Young will bring a new production of Jason Robert Brown's beloved song cycle SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD to Cocoa Beach, Florida on Friday, January 23rd. In this stirring teaser, Brown, Broadway's first Mary Poppins, sings the opening verse from the beloved title song.

In celebration of Disney Theatrical Productions' 20 years on Broadway, the ABC Television Network will air 'Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years,' SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14 at 7:00 p.m., ET. The special will be hosted by Broadway veteran Jesse Tyler Ferguson, star of ABC's 'Modern Family,' and feature musical performances from Sir Elton John, Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen (ABC's 'Nashville'), Darren Criss, Ashley Brown('Mary Poppins') and Adam Jacobs ('Aladdin'). At today's 'Broadway & Beyond...Celebrating the Stars of Disney on Broadway' event at Disney's D23 expo, stage stars Heidi Blickenstaff, Merle Dandridge, Ashley Brown, Josh Strickland, and Alton Fitzgerald White debuted a brand new song from the Broadway-bound production of ALADDIN, titled 'Somebody's Got Your Back.' Dolly looks swell as ever as Goodspeed Musicals brings everyone's favorite meddlesome matchmaker to its main stage. Hello, Dolly! will run from June 28 - September 8 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. Official Press Opening will be July 17, 2013.Leading the cast in the role of Dolly Levi will be cabaret diva Klea Blackhurst. Ms. Blackhurst is best known for her award-winning tribute to Ethel Merman, Everything the Traffic Will Allow, which she has performed in venues across the U.S. and in London. She was most recently seen in Happy Huntingat The York Theatre. She also created the role of Miss Lemon in the new musical The Nutty Professor, which premiered this past summer in Nashville. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's July 4th performance as part of the Ravinia Festival will feature vocalist Ashley Brown, who won rave reviews in the title role of Mary Poppins on Broadway and recently made her Lyric Opera debut in an acclaimed production of Show Boat. On Tuesday, September 7, LIMELIGHT: THE STORY OF Charlie Chaplin opened at the La Jolla's Mandell Weiss Theatre. The production, which has music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and a book by Christopher Curtis and Thomas Meehan, runs through October 17, 2010. The show is directed by Michael Unger and stars Rob McClure and Ashley Brown. BroadwayWorld reporter Audra Stafford recently spoke with Curtis about all things LIMELIGHT and what inspired him to write a musical about the comedic legend.

Dick Van Dyke delighted theatergoers when he made a surprise cameo in the LA engagement of the MARY POPPINS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR on January 22. Van Dyke, 84, reprised his smaller film role, that of the crotchety bank president Mr. Dawes, in front of an ecstatic, sold out house at the Ahmanson Theater as part of a charity fundraiser.
