London's West End has been abuzz for weeks about the highly anticipated return of Miss Saigon, featuring a new 25th anniversary production, directed by Laurence Connor, who's helped bring us new productions of other Cameron Mackintosh shows including The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables in new stagings.

Los cursos sobre Stephen Sondheim y repertorio han regresado a Madrid este mes de julio. Mariano Detry, esta vez acompañado por Jeremy Powell, director musical de Naked Boys Singing, Light The Night o Raise The Roof. El Teatro Español acogió estos cursos donde profesionales del musical pudieron recibir clases de dos reconocidos maestros.

Los directores Mariano Detry en la parte artística (Les Miserables en Reino Unido, Holanda, Argentina, Love Never Dies (Reino Unido) Cats y Rent en España, entre otras) y Alfonso Casado en la dirección musical (Los Miserables en España y próximamente Reino Unido, Mamma Mia, High School Musical, entre otras), impartieron en abril un curso dedicado a Stephen Sondheim. ¡Nuestra redactora Laura Peláez les entrevistó sobre este curso y aquí os mostramos este encuentro tan especial!

A finales del mes de enero se inició en la Escuela de Música Juan Pedro Carrero un curso centrado en el trabajo del conocido compositor Stephen Sondheim. Durante este tiempo, los alumnos han trabajado con Mariano Detry (dirección) y Alfonso Casado (dirección musical) algunas de sus canciones más conocidas.
