Review: YOU & IT, King's Head Theatre
by Cindy Marcolina - Sep 2, 2026
What should have been a provocative journey into the ethics of AI becomes a shallow rumination on selfishness. As the work has been translated from Korean, we could suggest a margin for error when it comes to semantics and musicality. This, however, doesn’t excuse the shortfalls of the material. The production looks and sounds good–Bob Sterrett and Lu Herbert design a cosy set and the cast is fabulous–but that’s not enough.
Review: EDINBURGH 2024: YOU & IT, Assembly Checkpoint

Presented by the EG Musical Company of South Korea, You & It feels like a haunting Black Mirror episode disguised as a Disney fairytale. The piece starts with happy-go-lucky couple Mina and Gyujin, whose love story seems almost too perfect. But as the narrative unfolds, a dark twist changes the trajectory of their lives, revealing a much more complex and unsettling reality beneath the surface.
