"ranney" has been seen as Adriana/Antipholis/others in Ambassadors Theatre’s THE BOMB-ITTY OF ERRORS (Stage Award - Best Ensemble) on London’s West End;(Doub)in the American Stage Company's JITNEY;Sterling in American Stage Theatre’s RADIO GOLF (2015 Outstanding Feature Role in a Play - Theatre Tampa Bay). Other roles include Hambone in AST's TWO TRAINS RUNNING (2014 Outstanding Feature Role in a Play - Theatre Tampa Bay); Boy Willie in Center Theatre Company’s THE PIANO LESSON (Critic’s Choice for Best Actor - Creative Loafing); ; Chutes&Ladders in Nevada Conservatory Theatre’s WATER BY THE SPOONFUL; Hedley in NCT’s SEVEN GUITARS; Link in Jobsite Theater’s TOPDOG/UNDERDOG; and Henry in Jobsite's RACE.“ranney” has headlined internationally from Dublin’s Comedy Cellar and London’s The Comedy Store to New York’s The Apollo; he has twice taken shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest performing arts festival in the world. “ranney” has mounted nine one man shows - six in the last decade - including And the Horse You Rode In On (Projects Arts Centre, Dublin), Whatever (People’s Improv Theater, New York), Incendiary (The Straz Center, Tampa), and Cufflinks and Jolly Ranchers for Dummies (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scotland).

ROMEO AND JULIET opened at the Festival Theatre last night and provided a strong conclusion to a very successful opening week. Director Sam White – who directed last season’s excellent WEDDING BAND – draws on the strengths of her artists and gives us a relatable and moving rendition of this well known tragedy.

On Saturday, November 11th, I had the pleasure of seeing ELF, the musical, performed by Fairfield Center Stage, at Wakeman Hall inside First Congregational Church of Fairfield. With book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin and music by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, this musical is based on the 2003 movie. Director Marcelle Morrisey, musical director Clay Zambo, and choreographers Emily Frangipane & Kelsey Kaminski combine their talents to bring out the best in this phenomenal ensemble cast. The music is of the traditional show-tunes genre, a rarity in more recently written musicals.
