I'm a theater lover, so the Tony Awards is important for me. But I am currently living in Canada as an international student, and that means that I can’t watch the Tony Awards as easily as those who live in the US. I did some research on how to watch it from here, but with a tight budget, it's definitely a challenge.

Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (DBP) has announced a lineup of dance performances and workshops at The Plaza at 300 Ashland. This summer, The Plaza will host the popular dance and fitness series Movement Mondays, the Emmy Award-winning PBS show Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi, and a series of dance parties to celebrate hip-hop's 50th Anniversary, reflecting Brooklyn's rich cultural fabric while bringing Downtown Brooklyn residents and New Yorkers together as a community.

Last night, EGOT winner Rita Moreno attended Lorraine Hansberry’s The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window after originating the role of “Iris” in the original Broadway production in 1964. This was the first time Ms. Moreno had seen the show from the audience since the original premiere over 50 years ago. Check out photos and video from her visit!

The 2023 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out this evening to recipients in 15 categories, with four honorary awards also bestowed. The Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball hosted by stars of stage and screen: Kevin Cahoon (Tony nominee, 'Shucked'), D'Arcy Carden ('The Thanksgiving Play'), Crystal Lucas-Perry (Tony nominee, 'Ain't No Mo''), Bonnie Milligan (Tony nominee, 'Kimberly Akimbo'), Arian Moayed (Tony nominee, 'A Doll's House'), and Tamara Tunie (The New Group's 'Bernarda's Daughters'). The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF.
