To celebrate the official kick-off of Summer, Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, EXECUTIVE Artistic Director) will host the 24th Annual LOWER EAST SIDE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS, a FREE Summer Arts Festivals HOSTED BY Theater for the New City (155 First Ave. at 10th St.). The festival will take place over Memorial Day Weekend, May 24 - 26, 2019 from 6pm - MIDNIGHT and will feature theater, music, art, dance, video, film, aerial arts, poetry, magic and comedy with over 270 performances, OVER 70 GROUPS, over the course of the weekend.  For the full list of performers and schedule please, visit www.theaterforthenewcity.net or call 212-254-1109.

What good is sitting alone in your room this week? If you don't already have plans to see a Broadway show, come out to see your favorite Broadway stars in a cabaret act instead. After Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Highlights this week include Laura Osnes, 54 Sings Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Broadway Sings Unplugged: Beyonce.

Emerging Artists Theatre (EAT) will present a one-night staged reading of Bambi Everson's new play, Sincerely Held Beliefs. The reading is part of EAT's biannual New Work Series and will take place on March 10 at 7 pm at TADA Theater in the Flatiron District. The reading will be followed by a brief talkback.

Deborah Grace Winer presents The Classic American Songbook Series returns to Feinstein's/54 Below with four jewel-box revues created especially for the venue's unique supper club setting. Each show celebrates American popular song as well as artists who created, interpreted and made themselves an integral part of the music. The Wizard of Oz: A Jazz Musical for All Ages, presented by Harlem Repertory Theater (HRT) and the Yip Harburg Foundation, has been extended through June 8, 2019 due to continuing and steady audience interest. The production has played since October 8, 2016 at Tato Laviera Theatre, 240 East 123rd Street (near 2nd Ave.), Manhattan, and has previously been extended six times.Upcoming performances are Saturdays at 3:00 PM: December 15, 2018; January 26, February 9 & 23, March 9 & 23 and June 8, 2019.

Philadelphia Theatre Company welcomes back everyone's favorite princesses for a heart-warming afternoon and evening concert for the entire family. During A Dream Is A Wish: Holiday Princess Concert audiences will sing-along with a gathering of  princes and princesses from popular movie musicals and television shows in a one-day-only event on Sunday, December 16, at 3:00pm and 6:00pm. Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite prince or princess. After the show, the cast will host  a meet-and-greet reception with holiday cookies, apple cider and photo opportunities. The Holiday Princess Concert will take place at Philadelphia Theatre Company at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S. Broad Street). On November 12 at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Hall, Broadway Close Up host SEAN HARTLEY interviewed ETHAN MORDDEN, author of When Broadway Went to Hollywood, exploring how songwriters like Rodgers & Hart, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Yip Harburg, Irving Berlin and the Gershwin brothers navigated the often antagonistic culture of Hollywood with different degrees of success - and why they ultimately returned to Broadway.

Legendary American song composer Harold Arlen will have a Hollywood Big Band tribute when Broadway powerhouse Eden Espinosa (Wicked) and Joseph Leo Bwarie (Jersey Boys) join Arlen's son Sam Arlen and singers Karon Blackwell and George Bugatti, for The Music of Harold Arlen, Wonderful Wizard of Song at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) on Saturday, December 1 at 8:00pm.

Bay Area Cabaret welcomes Tony Award nominee KATE BALDWIN for her West Coast cabaret debut on Sunday, November 4 at 5:00 p.m. in a new show titled How'd You Get This Number? featuring signature songs from her acclaimed performances in Finian's Rainbow, Giant, Big Fish and Hello Dolly! 

The Musical Theater Project (TMTP) will produce a new multi-media concert, "Just for Laughs," for two performances: Wednesday, November 14 (7pm) at Solon Center for the Arts, and Sunday, November 18 (3pm) at The Hanna Theater at Playhouse Square.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to once again present singer/pianist Steve Ross in a new show called "An American In Paris" on Monday, October 1.
