bergenPAC announces two new shows as part of their fall 2022 performance season. Master illusionist David Caserta will amaze young audiences with mind-blowing magic and laugh-out-loud comedy in his “Haunted Illusions” Halloween spectacular on Sunday, October 30 at 3:00 p.m.

I Hate Memory, an anti-musical co-starring the streets of New York and the late 20th century, will have its second performance at Joe's Pub on Friday, July 8 at 9:30PM, part of an ongoing bi-monthly series and eventually an album release.

Casting has been announced for Bert Tyler-Moore's What The Heart Wants, which receives its world premiere at The Edinburgh Fringe this August. The role of Frank Sinatra will be taken by Richard Shelton, whilst Simon Schatzberger will play Woody Allen.  The production is directed by Matt Peover.

Long Island University announced that Tom Dunn will serve as the new executive director of the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. Mr. Dunn has had an illustrious career in arts management highlighted by more than 16 years in leadership positions at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. He most recently served as executive director of the Southampton Arts Center since 2018. He will assume the new position effective Aug. 15, 2022.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. L. Doctorow’s best-selling novel of the same name. Ragtime will be presented June 1-26, 2022 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Westport Country Playhouse is staging the comic satire, “Straight White Men,” by Young Jean Lee, from now through June 5, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director. The show’s 2018 Broadway run made Lee the first Asian American female playwright to have a work produced there.

Westport Country Playhouse will present “Straight White Men: Dig Deeper,” a series of special events, free-of-charge and open to the community, surrounding the comedy, “Straight White Men,” playing May 24 – June 5. The events will enhance the community's insight on the production and its themes.

The American Theater Group (ATG), Somerset County’s professional, regional theater company celebrating its tenth season, will honor two-time Tony Award-winning actress Christine Ebersole at its annual Gala on Sunday, June 26th, at the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center in Basking Ridge, NJ. 

Centenary Stage Company's Young Performers Workshop returns this spring from July 11 through August 14, and the deadline to apply is July 8. This is a 15-week theatre training program for performers ages 8-18 that offers classes in dance, acting, singing, stage combat, technical theatre, and so much more.

After sold-out shows in NYC last fall (and 2+ years after a star-studded week-long London residency) the award-winning, internationally acclaimed, completely improvised night of music and comedy returns to the Birdland Theater for one night only... and then moves on to London for two shows at The Crazy Coqs.

To end its 2021-2022 season, JCC's Centerstage Theatre is currently presenting 'Little Shop of Horrors', the 1982 doo-wop campy masterpiece from the twisted minds of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and a stalwart favorite of the late 20th century musical theatre repertoire. Like most 'Little Shop' productions, JCC's is big, wild, whacky, funny, and delightfully macabre.

The production reunites Kline and Lamos, who were classmates at Northwestern University. Others in the ensemble are Bill Army, Denver Milord, Nick Westrate, Akiko Akita, and Ashton Muñiz.

CLUB44 RECORDS has announced the new album Carol Sloane, Live at Birdland, which is available on streaming platforms and on CD in stores and online today, Friday, April 8.
