The Old Globe's presents its 2011 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Adrian Noble returns as the Artistic Director of the 2011 Festival and will direct Shakespeare's The Tempest and Peter Shaffer's Amadeus. Ron Daniels also returns and will direct Much Ado About Nothing. The Shakespeare Festival runs May 29 - Sept. 25. Tickets are available by subscription and prices range from $72 to $243. Noel Coward's timeless wit is as pleasing as watercrest sandwiches or scones and butter. It's irresistible, especially in his now classic Private Lives and works to perfection when properly cast. In the new revival at Laguna Playhouse, Andrew Barnicle has assembled a glorious ensemble, one that knows how to bring out Coward's subtleties with panache, a somewhat rare quality for an American troupe.

One of the stage's most prolific playwrights and stage impresarios, Noel Coward's madcap romantic comedy PRIVATE LIVES gets a richly amusing though slightly by-the-numbers revival at the Laguna Playhouse, now playing through April 10. Full of his biting wit and old school farcical elements that still hold up surprisingly well, this revival production--helmed by former Artistic Director Andrew Barnicle--is full of hearty, genuine laughs.

Actress and fashion icon Lauren Hutton joins the newest cast of Nora Ephron and Delia's Love, Loss, and What I Wore as it continues its Los Angeles run in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Ephron Geffen Playhouse. Hutton will play the role of Gingy, and she joins Steppenwolf alum Glenne Headly (Dirty Rotten) who returns after appearing in the third cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore, film and TV veteran Edie(The Hogan Family, Ferris Bueller's Day Off), sketch comedy and musical theater actress Erica Ash (Lion King, Scoundrels, Spamalot) and stage actress Winslow Corbett (The Graduate national tour).

TRYING, which opens March 13 and runs through April 4th (with low-priced previews March 11 and 12), is a poignant, poetic and powerful story about a relationship between Francis Biddle, Attorney General under Roosevelt and Chief Judge at the Nuremburg trials; and Sarah, a tenacious 25-year-old woman from the Canadian plains, one of a string of secretaries Biddle's wife has hired to help him put his affairs in order at the end of his long an illustrious career. Biddle, 81, is in poor health, proud and cantankerous as he begins to confront his own mortality. Sarah, however, is also headstrong, and from her early life on the prairie has developed a strength and wisdom beyond her years. Despite the difference in ideologies and age, the two forge a friendship. The play is autobiographical in nature and is written by Joanna McClelland Glass, who worked for Biddle in the late 60s.

Directed by Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award winner Art Manke, Noises Off will run from Feb. 6 through March 8 on the Segerstrom Stage. Low-priced previews are available from Feb. 6 through Feb. 12. Opening night is Feb. 13.
