Stop Gun Violence NOW Theater Festival Set for 12/12-15

With the goal of creating discussion and inspiring action, next month in New York City from December 12-15 at The Workshop Theater (312 West 36th Street, 4th FL), the Stop Gun Violence NOW Theater Festival will honor of the one-year anniversary of the Newtown massacre and its 26 victims with four days of powerful theater centered around the themes of gun violence and gun control. All of the ticket proceeds will be donated to the following local gun control organizations that are proudly sponsoring the festival: Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, Newtown Action Alliance, Organizing for Action and Harlem Mothers SAVE.

After a yearlong hiatus to overhaul the company, Molotov Theatre Group, DC's only horror- and suspense-related theatre, is bringing its singularly twisted vision to 'Extremities,' by William Mastrosimone. The show runs Thursdays through Sundays, tonight, October 10-November 3 at 7:30 PM at the DC Arts Center.

McCarter Theatre Center Names Adam Immerwahr Associate Artistic Director

McCarter Theatre Center has announced the appointment of Adam Immerwahr as Associate Artistic Director. Immerwahr, a longtime McCarter staff member with a thriving directorial career, will support McCarter's Artistic Director, Emily Mann, in the planning and execution of the theater's artistic programming. His duties will also include directing for McCarter Theater's main stage, cultivating new works and identifying emerging artists, having primary responsibility for the day-to-day artistic oversight of McCarter's dramatic productions, and coordinating the selection and hiring of freelance artistic personnel.
