Molotov Theatre Group Seeks 2013-2014 Production Assistant and Administrative Support Intern

By:

If you're a student, a fan of horror and suspense, have limitless energy, and are willing to figure out how to get stage blood out of laundry in exchange for the right to do so, have we got a deal for you.

Molotov Theatre Group, Washington DC's only award-winning theatre company focused on the horror and suspense genre, is looking for a Production Assistant/Administrative Support Intern for its 2013/2014 season. The position is available immediately to the right candidate.

This is an unpaid position, open to either high school or college prospects. The executive staff of Molotov Theatre Group will be happy to complete any proof of internship paperwork required by college applicants.

To apply, please provide cover letter and resume, with two references, to Michael P. Wright at mw@molotovtheatre.org AND Alex Zavistovich at alex@molotovtheatre.org.

A valid driver's license is desirable but not mandatory. The weekly time commitment for this internship is negotiable, but will not be less than five hours nor more than 20 hours per week. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Attendance at rehearsals and productions, providing on-site support to the director and stage manager as requested
· Off-site errands and assignments as requested to respond to production requirements
· Support in load-in and load-out for each production of the season
· Note-taking at board subcommittee meetings, if available
· Data entry and updating of Molotov list information, as directed
· Other clerical and administrative support functions as required
· Some telephone solicitation or other outreach to support season ticket sales efforts is encouraged, but not mandatory

In lieu of financial compensation, the Production Assistant/Administrative Support Intern will receive other considerations, including:
· Complimentary admission, plus complimentary guest admission, to all Molotov productions for two full seasons (2013/14 and 2014/2015)
· Complimentary assortment of Molotov branded products, including T-shirts, food items and other goods.
· Written acknowledgement in all Molotov season promotional materials
· The right to smash (and videotape the smashing of) a cinder block on Co-Artistic Director Alex Zavistovich's chest using a nine-pound sledgehammer while he is lying on a bed of nails made of 360 eight-inch galvanized spikes (priceless)

The plays of the Molotov 2013/204 season:
· "Extremities," by William Mastrosimone (October 10, 2013 - November 3, 2014).
· "Normal," by Anthony Neilson (February 27, 2014 - March 23, 2014).
· "Killer Joe," by Tracy Letts (June 5, 2014 - June 29, 2014)

Once again, to apply, provide cover letter and resume, with two references, to Michael P. Wright at mw@molotovtheatre.org AND Alex Zavistovich atalex@molotovtheatre.org.
