Berkshire Theatre Group to Present EXTREMITIES, 7/11-7/27

By:

Berkshire Theatre Group presents William Mastrosimone's Extremities at The Unicorn Theatre opening July 13 at 8pm. Preview performances begin July 11 at 8pm and closing is on July 27 at 8pm.

Tickets to Extremities are $45 and preview tickets are $35. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Colonial Ticket Office at 111 South Street, Pittsfield; at the Fitzpatrick Main Stage Ticket Office at 83 East Main Street, Stockbridge, by calling (413) 997-4444 or online at www.BerkshireTheatreGroup.org. All plays, schedules, casting and prices are subject to change.

In William Mastrosimone's psychological thriller, a young woman is violently attacked in her own home. However, once the tables turn, Extremities raises provocative and difficult questions about rape and its aftermath, violence and its justification, justice and its reliability. Who will be held responsible in this riveting game of cat and mouse?

"Much of Extremities deals with our violent nature," said Kate Maguire, Artistic Director and CEO at Berkshire Theatre Group. "It also deals with the issues of how men and women speak to each other, how they act with each other, and who's going to get the better of each other. It's one of those plays that provokes and brings up things about each one of us that we often don't like to face."

Chosen as a Summer Arts Critic's Pick by The Boston Globe, Extremities is directed by original cast member Karen Allen. She starred in the original 1983 off-Broadway production in the lead role of Marjorie.

The cast includes Molly Camp as Marjorie, Kelly McCreary as Terry, James McMenam as Raul and Miriam Silverman as Patricia.
