In May, Sordid Lives by Del Shores makes its San Francisco debut as New Conservatory Theatre Center presents the play that spawned the huge cult comedy phenomenon. Three generations of a dysfunctional small-town Texas family gather after their elderly matriarch dies during a tryst in a seedy motel room with her much younger, much married neighbor. Fireworks are set off and bizarre truths exposed as the town prepares for what could be an embarrassing funeral.

Only in San Francisco will theatregoers find the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and, yes, even Future dancing together on one stage. The mysterious figure clad in all black bops its head back and forth in just one of many surprising delights awaiting audiences throughout new musical "Scrooge in Love!' 42nd Street Moon gives the "Christmas Carol" sequel a perfect premiere at the intimate Eureka Theatre, now through December 13.

San Jose Stage Company presents the iconic holiday classic, It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, from tonight, November 27 through December 22.

The Stage is transformed into a 1940s radio studio, where six actors gather to perform the holiday classic as a live radio play on Christmas Eve. This captivating holiday treat brings the spirit of the season to life right before your eyes (and ears). The ensemble becomes the characters, stepping into the iconic scenes that have warmed hearts and souls for generations.

With a surprisingly well-written book and a fun, familiar plot, 42nd Street Moon's production of the rare musical, "Carmelina," stands out against its more recent cousin, the Abba-inspired "Mamma Mia!" While it does not have the peppy energy and catchy music of "Mamma Mia!," "Carmelina" has unique stories and charming characters that make it just as enjoyable, especially when performed by a fabulous cast on the intimate Eureka Theatre stage.

Bay Area audiences will have the opportunity to experience a lost musical theatre treasure when 42nd Street Moon presents the first ever post-Broadway production of a musical collaboration by the composers of My Fair Lady and Brigadoon, CARMELINA. The show has a beautiful score by Alan Jay Lerner and Burton Lane and a saucy book by Lerner and Joseph Stein, whose Fiddler on the Roof remains one of the world's most popular musicals, but CARMELINA nevertheless vanished from sight. San Jose Stage Company lands the regional premiere of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. The brash and irreverent rock musical, about the country we live in and the leaders we choose, uses a blend of comedy, rebellious theatricality and an emo rock score. Written by Alex Timbers with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson runs now through July 29 and is directed by Rick Singleton. The San Jose Stage Company opened its season with the provocative and still darkly daring, Tony-winning Cabaret. Set in 1931 Berlin, on the cusp of all that was to come with the takeover of the Nazis, the Kander and Ebb musical revolves around the Kit Kat Club and its cast of characters who are determined to ignore the outside world.

The SF Playhouse is pleased to announce casting of the fourth show in their 5th season, the West Coast Premiere of Coronado by Dennis Lehane directed by Susi Damilano. Previews are March 19, 20 & 21; officially opening March 22 with performances through April 26.
