Queensland Theatre Company and QPAC have announced that they are each searching for Emerging Indigenous Producers - two new roles created to increase the national and international touring capacity of the Indigenous performing arts industry, supported by the Australia Council for the Arts.

Written by Lynn Nottage and starring theatre and film veterans, Yanna McIntosh and Sterling Jarvis, the story is set in a small mining town in the civil war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Wesley Enoch New Artistic Director for Queensland Theatre Company

Premier and Arts Minister Anna Bligh today announced Wesley Enoch as the new Artistic Director for the Queensland Theatre Company 'Wesley has a long history of working in theatre, both as a director and a writer, starting his career in his home state of Queensland and then moving interstate to work across Australia,' Ms Bligh said.

Sydney Theatre Announces '09 PATRICK WHITE PLAYWRIGHTS' AWARD SHORTLIST

Sydney Theatre Company has released the judges' shortlist of four plays in the running for the prestigious 2009 Patrick White Playwrights' Award. The Award is an annual initiative of Sydney Theatre Company and The Sydney Morning Herald established in 2000 in honour of Patrick White's contribution to Australian theatre and to foster the development of Australian playwrights.
