This summer, Canadian Stage celebrates 40 magical years of Dream in High Park by bringing back one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.  The first play ever presented in the High Park amphitheatre in 1983, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM has long been associated with the time-held tradition of Shakespeare under the stars.

Artistic Director Graham Abbey and Managing Director Vikki Anderson have announced County Stage's ambitious 2023 Summer line up. Presented by BMO and Huff Estates, running from May 26 to September 9, the season brings an expansive lineup of theatre, dance, comedy and music to two different locations in Prince Edward County: The Eddie Hotel & Farm, in Bloomfield and at the newly renovated Sergeants Mess Hall at Base31, in Picton.

Due to a family emergency Jeremy Proulx has regretfully withdrawn from the production of THE ORANGE DOT. Shawn Doyle will be filling the role of Joe.

Theatrefront presents the World Premiere of THE ORANGE DOT, written by Sean Dixon and directed by Vikki Anderson. Starring Daniela Vlaskalic and Jeremy Proulx, the production will play March 16 - April 1, 2017  at Streetcar Crowsnest.

The 2015 Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake Ontario is shaping up to be a great mix of Shavian classics, an American musical, Canadian premieres and cutting edge modern day drama. Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell will be leaving after the 2016 Season and is working hard to program an uniquely balanced season, while also hoping to fulfill all of her artistic desires before her tenure ends. The company mandate is: ' The Shaw Festival is a theatre company inspired by the work of Bernard Shaw. We produce plays from and about his era and contemporary plays that share Shaw's provocative exploration of society and celebration of humanity.'

The Shaw Festival today announced principal casting and creative team details for its 54th season.

On July 1st 2013, Theatrefront merged with DVxT Theatre Company. Both companies share a similar aesthetic in terms of style, rehearsal process, production values and core storytelling. Both companies prioritize new work, innovative productions of classics and an ensemble structure. Theatrefront and DVxT have 24 years of combined experience, which includes 20 productions in Toronto, 35 Dora Award Nominations and 16 Dora Awards.

The 2013 Dora Awards took place in Toronto on Monday June 25th at The St Lawrence Centre for the Arts. To accommodate demand, the Bluma theatre was also opened up for guests and the awards were live-streamed via 'Doratron'. As in previous years, there was a glamorous VIP ceremony pre-show followed by a post show street party that closed down Front Street. The Canadian Stage TD Dream in High Park presents Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare's timeless tale of ill-fated lovers and feuding families. Jeff Irving stars as Romeo (Ross Petty's Robin Hood, Mirvish Productions' Sound of Music and Canadian Stage/Citadel Theatre's The December Man /L'homme de décembre) and Christine Horne stars as Juliet (The Stone Angel with Ellen Burstyn and KICK Theatre's Miss Julie: Sheh'mah).

The 31st Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards for the 2009/2010 season were handed out in a star-studded ceremony on the evening of Monday, June 28 at Toronto's in the Bluma Appel Theatre of the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, hosted by the celebrated CBC Radio host Jian Ghomeshi. The Dora Mavor Moore Awards are produced and presented on behalf of the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) and celebrate excellence in Toronto theatre, dance and opera. The 225 Dora-eligible shows opened between June 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010. A total of 35 Dora Awards plus the Silver Ticket Award, the Pauline McGibbon Award and the Audience Choice Award were given out.
