TDF's Autism Theater Initiative To Host Autism Friendly B'way Performances

TDF's Autism Theater Initiative will present autism-friendly performances of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins on Sunday, April 29, at 1pm, at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd, Street, NYC) and Disney's The Lion King on Sunday, September 30, at 1pm, at the Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway, NYC).

TDF Names Daniel Renner as Director of Education

Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, has named Daniel Renner to the position of Director of Education. Mr. Renner, who is one of the country's leading theatre arts educators, is currently the Dean of the National Theatre Conservatory and Director of Education for the Denver Center of the Performing Arts.

TDF Costume Collections Opens In New Home at Kaufman Astoria Studios

Theatre Development Fund's (TDF) Costume Collection, which is one of the largest theatrical costume rental houses in the country, has moved its 75,000-piece costume collection to the landmarked Kaufman Astoria Studios (KAS) and opens for business in its new home on Monday, November 14 at 9am.

League of Professional Theatre Women Celebrates TURNING 30 at Duffy Square, 9/28

On Wednesday, September 28th the League of Professional Theatre Women will kick-off the fifteen-month celebration of their 30th Anniversary with a special event, TURNING 30, in Duffy Square at 11am. Co-hosted by Sirius/XM Radio's Julie James & Off-Broadway's Christine Pedi, the event will feature appearances by Emmy Award-winning actress/comedian Judy Gold (The Judy Show) & the Mamma Mia! 'Dynamos,' Carol Linnea Johnson, Corinne Melançon & Stacia Fernandez. Theatre Development Fund Launches Autism- Friendly Version of THE LION KING

Theatre Development Fund, the not-for-profit performing arts service organization whose mission includes making theatre accessible for all audiences, is piloting a new program, Autism Theatre Initiative, to make theatre accessible to children and adults on the autism spectrum, and their families.

TDF Receives $30,000 Grant from NEA for National Open Captioning Initiative

Rocco Landesman, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, recently announced that Theatre Development Fund has been recommended for a grant of $30,000 to help support TDF's National Open Captioning Initiative, which will partner with 11 regional theatres during the 2011/12 theatre season.

TDF Names Michael Naumann Managing Director

Earl D. Weiner, Chairman of the Board, and Victoria Bailey, Executive Director of Theatre Development Fund [TDF], the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, announced today that Michael Naumann would be joining TDF as Managing Director. Mr. Naumann, a significant player in New York's theatrical community, leaves his position of Director of Finance at Frankel Green Theatrical Management (FGTM) to join TDF. Prior to his current post, Mr. Naumann served for 20 years as Director of Finance and Administration at Manhattan Theatre Club. He will assume his duties at TDF on May 9.

TDF's New Audiences for New York Program Begins Second Year

Theatre Development Fund, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, announced the commencement of the second year of their audience development initiative, 'New Audiences for New York,' which is designed to build new audiences for Broadway among diverse and underrepresented New Yorkers across the City.
