The Muny announced today its full cast, design and production teams for the theatre's centennial season production of Singin' in the Rain, June 27 - July 3. Joining the previously announced Corbin Bleu (Don Lockwood), Berklea Going (Kathy Selden) and Jeffrey Schecter (Cosmo Brown) are Megan Sikora (Lina Lamont), Jeff McCarthy (R.F. Simpson) and George Merrick (Roscoe Dexter).

Producer/director Victor Wisehart has announced that two-time Helen Hayes Award-winner and star of Every Little Step Natascia Diaz along with stars of Arena Stage's The Pajama Game Britney Coleman (Babe) and Tim Rogan (Sid) will headline 'Holidays, Hearts, And Home,' a one-night-only benefit concert to raise money to provide relief efforts to Puerto Rico.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater presented the American Artist Award to Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor Hal Linden, who is currently performing in Arthur Miller's The Price in Arena Stage's Kogod Cradle. A CHORUS LINE was the creation of Michael Bennett, one of Broadway's finest choreographers, who held a series of workshops in the mid 1970's to explore a way to examine the life that dancers lead. Then book writers James Kirkwood, Jr. and Nicholas Dante crafted a musical from this wealth of material collected to tell the story of Broadway's 'gypsies', the singers and dancers of the chorus that make their living by moving from production to production. And, it's how those stories are often vividly brought to life that distinguishes the current production at The MUNY. Instead of just relying solely on the compelling reasons that each character became a dancer, although some are left to stand alone in truly dramatic fashion, younger versions of themselves, whether through video projections or by using actual younger performers to act out their recollections as they speak are incorporated. It's an utterly charming touch that really stands out in stunning fashion. It makes this version particularly special, and when you combine that with a very talented ensemble, and an orchestra that sounds superb, you wind up producing a must-see show!

Ghostlight Records has released the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn in digital formats today, Friday, June 2. The CD version will be available online and in stores on Friday, July 21. The album will feature a 16-page full color booklet with a synopsis and liner notes from Ted Chapin, President of Rodgers & Hammerstein, an Imagem Company. Michael Riedel of the New York Post has reported that the recent concert version of the Gershwin jukebox musical, Crazy for You, starring Broadway favorites, Laura Osnes and Tony Yazbeck may be looking at a Broadway run.

Following its initial casting announcement, The Muny announced today additional principal casting for its spectacular 99th season. This star-packed group includes a mixture of some of the brightest names from stage and screen, with many making their Muny debut this summer.

Just last night, Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP) presented the 25th Anniversary concert performance of Gershwin's Tony Award-winning musical comedy Crazy for You, at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center.
