Piper Theatre Productions will present 'Alice in Chaos' as a traveling production throughout June.

​​​​​​​PIPER THEATRE PRODUCTIONS, now in its 23rd season, continues its commitment to new plays with our SPOTLIGHT festival now showcasing three new plays - Mother Sauvage with music by Rob Parker, Best Party Ever! By Jessica Phillips Lorenz, and a reading of The Charioteer and the Prince by Naren Weiss.

The cast and dates have been announced for the upcoming downtown theatre production of The Sketchy Eastern European Show, a new play by Naren Weiss. The piece, which is directed by Vas Eli (formerly Vasile Flutur) will have a limited engagement on March 23rd, 24th, and 25th of this month. It will then move to a three week run in 2024 from March 7th to the 24th at the same venue.

The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues return tonight for Season 3, Round 3. An exciting group of actors and writers have been paired to create pieces written, rehearsed and recorded in 24 hours. Performers include Ben Ahlers, Molly Collier, Niall Cunningham, Carolina Đỗ, Vas Eli, Alyssa May Gold, Ryan Spahn, John Clarence Stewart and more.

The 2019 MFA Playwriting students at Brooklyn College - Tanya Everett, Eri Nox, Arika Larson and Cherry Lou Sy - will be presenting readings of their full-length plays. All shows will be at The Tank on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3 pm.

This summer, Piper is excited to partner with the Romanian Cultural Institute, travel to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, screen original student films alongside an indie work, and present fantastic family theater that will engage the community and excite veteran theatergoers and newbies alike. All performances are free and take place outdoors at the Old Stone House's Washington Park field on 4th Avenue in Park Slope.

Christopher Marlowe's 1587 epic Tamburlaine, Parts I and II, edited and directed by Olivier Award-winner Michael Boyd and starring John Douglas Thompson, opens Sunday, November 16, at 1:00pm at Theatre for a New Audience, Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.

Dallas playwright Ruth Cantrell's new play, REMNANTS OF A DREAM will receive a staged reading on November 3rd with Lone Star Theatre Co. The play is presented as part of Lone Star Theatre Co.'s on-going TEXAS READS series.

John Douglas Thompson will lead a company of 19 actors playing 60 roles in the first major New York production since Broadway 1956 of Christopher Marlowe's 1587 epic Tamburlaine, Parts I and II, Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director of Theatre for a New Audience, announced. Directed and edited by Olivier Award-winner Michael Boyd, former Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Marlowe's two-part drama will be performed as one 3.5-hour play, plus a 30-minute intermission.
