Announcing The 80th NNPN Rolling World Premiere, RED BIKE By Caridad Svich

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 80th Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Red Bike by Caridad Svich. The Roll includes Member Theaters PYGmalion Productions (April 20-May 5 in Salt Lake City), Simpatico Theatre (June 6-24 in Philadelphia), Know Theatre of Cincinnati (January 11-February 2, 2019), and The Wilbury Theatre Group (April 11-21, 2019 in Providence). Red Bike was presented at NNPN's 2017 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by Orlando Shakespeare Theatre.

What if, instead of drowning, Shakespeare's Ophelia had splashed through the brook water and found a parallel universe on the other side? In playwright Caridad Svich's lyrical deconstruction of Hamlet, Ophelia cuts a new path for herself through a neo-Elizabethan Appalachia. In this world, Hamlet is known as Rude Boy, Gertrude is a brothel madam, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are her androgynous helpers.

Repertorio Announces Marquez Adaptation EL CORONEL NO TIENE QUIEN LE ESCRIBA

A new play directed by the renowned Colombian Director Jorge Al Triana, starring Germ n Jaramillo and Zulema Clares. The production marks the second work of Repertorio Espa ol's 50th Anniversary Season. Previews begin on February 23rd and the premiere will take place on Tuesday, February 27, 2018

UNHCR Benefit Concert Set for National Theatre

This Valentine's Day, Sunday 14 February, leading names in British theatre will come together to perform a benefit show for the UNHCR at the National Theatre.  The afternoon performance in the NT's Lyttelton Theatre will see actors including Juliet Stevenson (Truly, Madly, Deeply), David Morrissey (Hangmen), Andy Nyman (Hangmen), Rufus Hound (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), James Bolam (New Tricks), Noma Dumezweni (Linda), Ray Fearon (Coronation Street), Adjoa Andoh (Dr Who) and Zubin Varla (Dara) perform brand new work and much loved work by Richard Bean, Staten Cousins-Roe, Stephanie Dale, David Edgar, Phil Porter, Michelle Terry, Jenifer Toksvig and Matthew Woodyatt (with further cast and creative names to be announced).
