Following its Theatre Royal Haymarket debut and recent performances at The Other Palace, casting is announced for the international premiere of new musical Broken Wings.

It was all too quickly over, but the audience would have stayed all night.

The evening was dedicated to the late Frank Ford, the founder of the Cabaret Festival.

Olivier Award-winning Ute Lemper will bring her one woman show Rendezvous with Marlene, celebrating the life of Marlene Dietrich, to Arcola Theatre. The show runs 14-19 May, and marks Ute Lemper's first major London performance since Cadogan Hall in 2017.

New Musical Broken Wings premiered at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2018 in semi-staged concert format, Directed by Bronagh Lagan, Produced by Ali Matar and with Orchestrations and Musical Direction by Joe Davison. Following further development, the show now prepares for its first international production dates with a two-week London workshop, culminating in two public presentations at The Other Palace.

The 2018-2019 Renee Fleming VOICES series continues withJamie Barton on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the Terrace Theater. Accompanied by pianist Kathleen Kelly, Barton's one-night-only recital will feature classics from Haydn, Strauss, and Ravel while showcasing the voices of women, including works by composers Nadia and Lili Boulanger and Americans Elinor Remick Warren and Amy Beach. Barton's performance also features Love After 1950, a contemporary song cycle by Libby Larsen that uses offbeat vocal styles like blues, tango, and honky-tonk to evoke different moods. Tickets for this program are $49-$69.

The 2018-2019 Renee Fleming VOICES series continues with singer-songwriter Nellie McKay today, February 8, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the Terrace Theater. McKay's one-night-only solo set will include songs from her recent Sister Orchid, as well as others in her catalog. Tickets for this performance are $25-$35.

Ute Lemper's new show is based on a phone call and exchange between Marlene and Ute in 1988 in Paris, 30 years ago. After receiving the French Moliere Award for her performance in Cabaret in Paris, Ute had sent a postcard to Marlene, essentially apologizing for all the media attention comparing her to Marlene Dietrich. Ute was just at the beginning of her career in theatre and music, whereas Marlene looked back on a long, fulfilled life of movies, music, incredible collaborations, love stories and stardom.
