As the heatwave sizzles into August Underbelly Festival continues to provide London with summer thrills, with a new-look site and a spectacular programme of circus, drag, burlesque, variety and family entertainment all set in the glorious Paradiso Spiegeltent.
Jennifer Westfeldt ('Younger,' 'Friends with Kids') and Victoria Justice ('Victorious,' 'Eye Candy') have been tapped for the freshman season of the forthcoming scripted series 'Queen America' on Facebook Watch, Facebook's new video platform. Westfeldt's status is as a recurring guest star with Justice attached to the project for dual-episodes. This new series stars Oscar and Tony award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (Vicki Ellis). 'Queen America' is created, written, and executive produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer ('Fear the Walking Dead'). Westfeldt and Justice join previously announced series regulars Belle Shouse, Teagle F. Bougere, Rana Roy, Isabella Amara, Molly Price and Megan West.
For its sixth year of offering plays by contemporary Irish playwrights to Portland audiences, Corrib Theatre announces a three-show season: Hurl by Charlie O'Neill, Four Last Things by Lisa Tierney-Keogh, and How to Keep an Alien by Sonya Kelly. Corrib's play selections feature internationally produced, award-winning Irish playwrights, whose works resonate throughout the world stage. Artistic Director Gemma Whelan will direct Four Last Things and How to Keep an Alien, Tracy Cameron Francis will direct Hurl. The company's 2018-19 productions will be held at New Expressive Works, 810 SE Belmont St., Portland.

'Guys and Dolls' is based off of a string of short stories by writer Damon Runyon. His forte was tales of the seedy underbelly of the New York City crime scene of the 20's and 30's. The cast has a list of colorful characters that chew up scenes. Director Victoria Boyce brings to life the stylized and hilariously dated criminal underworld to life.

The time is approximately 1670 and women are now officially allowed to perform on the English stage. Playhouse Creatures is based on the real lives of women actors from that era as derived from the extant writings that still survive. Despite this opportunity, these women still have few life choices and almost no control over the terms of their employment. Seemingly at every turn, the odds of success are not in their favor and men are not their only threat. Women who are not of the theatre are still harshly critical of course, but even their own peer group has its own pecking order. Given the current political climate, Playhouse Creatures is a natural choice for City Theatre to produce.

Directed by David Mercatali, Tremor received its world premiere at the Sherman Theatre before heading to New York where it played 59E59 Theaters as part of the Brits Off Broadway festival.
