French-Sicilian tenor Roberto Alagna returns to Covent Garden for his 100th Royal Opera performance, singing the eponymous hero in Giordano's Andrea Chenier in the first revival of David McVicar's spectacular 2015 production.

American Classical Orchestra (ACO) kicks off its 2018-19 season on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 8:00pm in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center with Mozart Serenade, a concert of festive music by Mozart. ACO is joined by acclaimed period violinist Krista Bennion Feeney in Mozart's Haffner Serenade and will use contrabasses instead of cellos as is indicated in the original score, creating a refreshingly transparent sound. Pianist Christian De Luca, a virtuosic Juilliard historical performance program graduate, makes his Lincoln Center debut on fortepiano in Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, a work popularized in the Swedish film Elvira Madigan. The 2018-2019 season marks the orchestra's 34th year of presenting historically accurate, engaging, and educational concerts, led by Artistic Director and Founder Thomas Crawford.

This Saturday, 14th April, booking opens for the 67th Wexford Festival Opera, taking place in October. Today details of the cast for the main stage operas were announced. Wexford Festival Opera is renowned for discovering and presenting hidden gems, not only in the operas on stage but in the outstanding cast of singers it presents. Many of this year's principal singers, who hail from 11 countries, are making their Wexford debut this year.

Ahead of the opening of priority booking for Friends of the Festival on Saturday, 24 March, details of the full programme for the 67th Wexford Festival Opera are announced. Continuing its tradition of presenting the 'best operas rarely seen', this year's Festival includes a verismo double-bill, a European premiere and a classic Wexford offering involving kidnapping, murder, arson and a posh New York dinner party that doesn't quite go to plan! All this plus three daytime ShortWorks operas, concerts, recitals, theatre and talks. 62 public events over the autumn 17-day period.

Artistic Director David Agler has confirmed the repertoire for the main evening operas for the 67th Wexford Festival Opera in 2018. This is a change to the line-up which was previously printed on bookmarks made available in the National Opera House during the 2017 Festival.

On May 4, 2017, LA Opera will present soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov in concert with the LA Opera Orchestra, conducted by Jader Bignamini. The concert will take place at 7:30pm at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, located at 135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

This summer marks another historic milestone for the annual Bard SummerScape festival. For the first time since its founding, this season's focus is on the music and culture of Italy, with seven weeks of music, opera,theater, dance, film, and cabaret keyed to the theme of the 27th Bard Music Festival, "Puccini and His World." This intensive examination of the life and times of Giacomo Puccini opens a window onto Italy's rich musical heritage from Palestrina to Menotti, by way of the most popular and successful - yet, paradoxically, frequently critically underrated - opera composer of all time. Complementing the music festival, some of the Tuscan master's most compelling compatriots provide other key SummerScape highlights. San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley and Music Director Nicola Luisotti today announced the Company's 2016–17 Season repertory and roster of international guest artists, conductors and creative teams scheduled to appear at the War Memorial Opera House, as well as initial programming for SF Opera Lab 2017 presentations at the Diane B. Wilsey Center for Opera's Taube Atrium Theater. The Company's 94th Season will also mark Matthew Shilvock's inaugural year as San Francisco Opera's new general director, succeeding his mentor and internationally respected impresario, David Gockley, who will step down on July 31, 2016.
