lectric Youth, a musical theater ensemble trained at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA), saw their name in lights on a Times Square marquee billing their off-Broadway Showcase performed on January 9th. Electric Youth was represented for the first time at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters Convention held at the New York Hilton, January 8 - 11. The Electric Youth showcase was staged at the Times Square Arts Center. Accompanied by their eight-piece band of Boston based musicians, they entertained an enthusiastic audience including New York guests and convention attendees as well as FSPA families and alumni.

The Triad and Lee Summers present the 'Just A Piano Open Mic Launch: A Benefit For Haiti' on Monday, January 31st 2010, at 7:30pm. The "Just A Piano" concept broadens for this series inviting singers to also bring accompanists or pre-recorded tracks, musical instruments or play on The Triad's recently refurbished baby grand.

Currently featured in the hit revival of FINIAN'S RAINBOW at the St. James Theater, Tyrick's week packs a real punch! 8 performances of Finian's, classroom dance instruction and mentoring, recording a cast album, charity work and more. Broadway veteran Cara Kjellman (Billy Elliot, 42nd Street) spent Saturday, December 12 mentoring the young talent of Broadway's future as she led the morning portion of a Billy Elliot master class with Broadway Artists Alliance. Kjellman was joined by fellow cast members Ruby Rakos, Chelsea Galembo, and Danika Yarosh to answer questions and speak about their experiences with Billy Elliot as well as other stage credits to a group of eager and talented young performers ages 10 to 21.
