Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Happy Wednesday! The week is halfway over and we've got a slew of Broadway stories for you to catch up on!

The return of the iconic Shakespearean tragedy Romeo & Juliet, as well as Nashville premieres of Christopher Bruce's Rolling Stones-inspired ballet Rooster and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's A Streetcar Named Desire are among the highlights of Nashville Ballet's 2019-20 season, announced today.

This past Saturday an impromptu performance at the Huntington Mall began with a shout known to all musical lovers: 'Pulitzer and Hearst, they think we're nothing' Are we nothing'?' To which an excited mob of newsies replied tenaciously, 'No!' Audiences were then treated to an impressive flash mob rendition of 'The World Will Know' during a lull in the Macy's Prom Fashion Event. After this commanding performance, there's no doubt in anybody's mind just how great First Stage Theatre Company's production of Newsies will be.

February was full of stage to screen news and we're here to catch you up on all of it! In the biggest news of the month, it has just been confirmed that Glenn Close will star in a Rob Ashford-directed film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, which is set to begin shooting this October! It was also announced that a film adaptation of One Man, Two Guvnors is on the way. Both Lion King and Aladdin released new TV spots and Idris Elba talked about the upcoming Cats film!

Emmy finds her life to be absurdly limiting. When she gets sacked by her boss, she takes the chance to set on a mission to find her hero: Amelia Earhart. The pilot has been missing for 81 years but our heroine is certain she must be somewhere.

Today, musician and visual artist known as Young & Sick (real name Nick van Hofwegen) has released new single 'Ohh My Ghosts.' The track is taken from his upcoming new EP that will see a release spring 2019 via Neon Gold Records / B3SCI Records. Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre strums a power chord with "Seven Guitars." 'Mamma Mia!',the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will feature four Broadway veterans, including Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys) when it premieres at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center, running March 8-24.

On Today, February 28, 2019, the Women's Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) Honorary Chairs Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks, Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg, along with WCRF co-founders Anne Douglas, Quinn Ezralow, Marion Laurie, Kelly Chapman Meyer, and Jamie Tisch will welcome guests to An Unforgettable Evening.  The event will take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, and benefit the Women's Cancer Research Fund, a program of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

The Tak cs Quartet returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts on February 28, 2019 at 8:00pm. The ensemble, considered to be one of the world's greatest string quartets, welcomed second violinist Harumi Rhodes earlier this year following the retirement of founding member K roly Schranz. Quartet members include Edward Dusinberre and Harumi Rhodes, violins; Geraldine Walther, viola; and Andr s Fej r, cello.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and Film Independent present a special, one-night only live read of the 1981 comedy My Dinner with Andre, starring Emmy Award-winning writer and comedian John Mulaney ('Saturday Night Live,' Kid Gorgeous) and noted film and Broadway actor Nick Kroll (Loving, Big Mouth, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 7:30 pm. Elvis Mitchell, Film Independent Curator will host.

Rockwell Table & Stage expands their hit 'Unauthorized Musical Parody of..' (UMPO) Series with the 1999 classic film '10 Things I Hate About You.' Kicking off on March 22, 2019, audiences will be able to experience this unique, hilarious, and slightly-dramatic musical theatre film parody. Running every Friday and Saturday night at 8pm and Sundays at noon, until May 12th.

Broadway Unlocked founder Jessica Ryan announced today that the seventh annual #giveback concert is slated for Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 7.30pm at WNYC's The Greene Space (44 Charlton Street).  A VIP Reception begins at 6pm, doors open at 6.45pm.  Theatre and technology collide for good at the concert, as theatre artists around the world connect, mobilize and amplify their voices to impact change in their communities. In New York, Broadway, TV, Film and YouTube stars come together to empower survivors of violence and fund the groundbreaking work of Crime Victims Treatment Center (CVTC), where anyone can receive life-saving treatment - completely free of charge.

Oakland's Wild Pink are following their widely acclaimed 2018 album Yolk In The Fur with the EP 5 Songs, due out this Friday, March 1. The EP consists of three remixes and two unreleased tracks from the Yolk In The Fur sessions, and today they're sharing one of those tracks, 'Coaches Who Cry.' Billboard premiered the song today, writing, 'It's packed with homemade grandeur, with mood-setting acoustics and cryptic lyrics leading to a dramatic finish.' In an accompanying interview, frontman John Ross shared the song's origins, saying, 'The ending is about a memory I have of being really young, when on one particular Thanksgiving, all of our family, friends, and neighbors smoked turkeys in a smoker in our yard. It was snowing pretty hard and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I grew up in a town that was small at the time and had a strong sense of community. Which I think informed the person I've become.'
