The 33rd Annual MAC Awards were handed out last night (Tuesday, March 26, 2019) during a glitzy evening at New York City's SONY Hall.

A brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, produced by NETworks Presentations, is making its Morristown premiere Friday and Saturday, April 26-27 at Mayo Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $49-$89.

Playwrights, directors and producers gathered at the May Fair Hotel on Monday for the third annual Tonic Awards, celebrating the achievements of women in theatre. In attendance, in addition to the aforementioned artists, were some of the theatre world's top movers and shakers, eager to show their support to a worthy cause.

Second Stage Theater has announced five initial productions for its upcoming 2019-2020 Season, including two world premieres and three productions at its Broadway home, The Hayes Theater. 

 “Taraji P. Henson is at her absolute best” (Shawn Edwards, FOX-TV) in director Adam Shankman's hilarious comedy WHAT MEN WANT, arriving on Digital April 23, 2019 and on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD May 7 from Paramount Home Media Distribution.

The Country Music community is rallying in support of fellow Grammy winning artist, John Berry, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments for throat cancer discovered in January. A concert, silent auction, sponsor opportunities and more will be included as ways to donate.

Recipients of the third annual Tonic Awards were announced tonight at an awards ceremony held at The May Fair Hotel hosted by Tracy Ann Oberman. The awards celebrate the achievements of game-changing women, significant organisations, projects and productions that redefine the role of women in the performing arts, both on and off stage. The recipients of this year's awards are: Jude Kelly CBE, Alison Tickell, Open Clasp Theatre Company, Paula Garfield, Elliott & Harper Productions for Company, Shakespeare's Globe's production of Emilia, The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and Dance Umbrella.

Lifetime dials up the romance this spring with a trio of movies that will make you believe in love, including the sequel to a modern day fairy tale of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the adaption of two beloved novels. Kicking off on Memorial Day, May 27 at 8pm ET/PT with the premiere of Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal, Tiffany Smith and Charlie Field star as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the follow-up to the 2018 hit film. Featuring an all-African American cast, Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta, Lifetime's modern take of the Jane Austen classic debuts Saturday, June 1 at 8pm ET/PT. Based on the bestselling novel, Adriana Trigiani's Very Valentine, premieres Saturday, June 8 at 8pm ET/PT, starring Kelen Coleman and Jacqueline Bisset, and follows the adventures of a young woman as she attempts to rescue her family's struggling shoe business and find love at the same time.

The Sauk, Hillsdale County's community theatre, will present THE LARAMIE PROJECT, for four performances only, March 28-31.

MasterVoices will conclude its 2018-19 season with the world premiere of a new adaptation of the legendary Kurt Weill, Ira Gershwin, Moss Hartmusical Lady in the Dark. Presented as part of New York City Center's 75th-anniversary season, it is directed and conducted by MasterVoices Artistic Director Ted Sperling, and choreographed by Doug Varone.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the 2019 recipients of the Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards-a series of grants that recognize American teachers by spotlighting their extraordinary impact on the lives of students.

Nat Geo WILD announced today that it has tapped Emmy Award-winning journalist Mark Steines (“Entertainment Tonight”; KTLA's Rose Parade) as host of its ambitious Animal ER Live, a four-week, live event series from “Live PD” creators Big Fish Entertainment, an MGM Company. Animal ER Live airs Saturday and Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT, for four weeks premiering Saturday, March 30.
