Celebrate Easter at the Belgrade Theatre

From Main Stage musicals to interactive pre-school shows, there's plenty for families to look forward to at the Belgrade Theatre this Easter, with a range of shows on offer for kids of all ages to enjoy.

The programme kicks off 16-18 April with a charming adaptation of Tim Hopgood's much-loved picture book, Wow! It's Night-Time. Presented by the acclaimed puppetry company Little Angel Theatre, this after-dark adventure sees the curious little owl return to discover the wonders of night-time, from the big, bright moon to the bats in the sky and the foxes living deep in the forest. But where are all the other owls? When the wind blows the leaves from her tree, you'll soon see! Suitable for children aged 2-5 years, each performance is followed by a post-show meet and greet with the puppets.

Then on Saturday 20 April, the Honalee Media return with Pongo's Party a brand new adventure set on Marty MacDonald's Farm, and featuring the voice of children's TV favourite Justin Fletcher. This time, the animals are throwing a party for Pongo the Pig, and you're invited to join the celebrations. Expect fun, laughter and classic children's songs as well as a special guest appearance from the Easter Bunny, ending with a free Easter gift for every child. This show is recommended for children aged 2-7.

The following week, from 24-27 April, audiences are invited to revisit the magical adventures of Mildred Hubble in a new musical adaptation of Jill Murphy's classic The Worst Witch. Penned by award-winning writer Emma Reeves (Hetty Feather, The Story of Tracy Beaker), this spellbinding show will transport you back to the weird and wonderful world of Miss Cackle's Academy, where an old enemy is hatching a new plan for revenge that could threaten not just the school, but the whole world!

Also from 24-27 April, Engine House Theatre bring the heart-warming story of Grandad's Island to the stage, adapted from the award-winning children's book by Benji Davies. Join Syd and Grandad as they set off on an adventure that will change their lives forever. Full of song, laughter and jungles, this moving show deals magically and sensitively with themes of love and loss.

Tickets to all of these shows and more are available to book now by calling the box office on 024 7655 3055 or by visiting www.belgrade.co.uk where prices are even cheaper.
