The official opening night for Polly Draper in MY BRILLIANT DIVORCE, took place last Saturday night at Bay Street Theatre. Geraldine Aron, the playwright for this American Premiere attended the after party in the lobby along with other theatre veterans including Blythe Danner, TEd Hartley and Dina Merrill, John McDaniel, Terrence McNally, Joe Pintauro, Mercedes Ruehl, Sloan Shelton, and Harris Yulin. The show runs now through Sunday, June 24. The production is directed by Matt McGrath, one of Bay Street Theatre's Artistic Associates.

Bay Street Theatre today announced that it has made a decision to renew its lease for the near future in Sag Harbor, while it pursues the goal of finding a permanent home on the East End. The announcement comes after a new lease agreement was inked between the theater and Pat Malloy earlier this week.

Bay Street Theatre announced today that Sybil Christopher, one of the founders of the theatre, is changing roles. After twenty years, Ms. Christopher is putting her Artistic Director's hat aside for that of Consultant.

As a follow up to recent articles, Bay Street Theatre confirms that it is looking for a new home in Sag Harbor. Contrary to some headlines, the theatre is not closing its doors. The theatre will celebrate its 21st season in 2012 in its current location on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. The lease is up in May, 2013, so the 22nd season will take place at a new or temporary facility.
