Touchstone Theatre to Present JOURNEY FROM THE EAST, Begin. 4/3-13

Touchstone Theatre, long-renowned for creating community-transforming works of theatre, is tackling the story of the Lehigh Valley's Chinese locals and visitors. This two year process, entitled Journey from the East, will feature two performances, the first of which will be taking place April 3-13, 2014; the latter performance will be produced in April 2015, in collaboration with Chinese multidisciplinary artists of the Utopia Group, and with the support of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Love and sex: This dynamic pair of human needs has dominated society's conscious since Eve offered Adam the apple and together they discovered their nakedness. The two subjects frequently intermingle on stage at Spring Green's American Players Theatre for the company's final selection in their 2013 season when APT opened the decadent Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

Touchstone Theatre to Present CHRISTMAS CITY FOLLIES XIV, 12/5-22

Touchstone Theatre presents Christmas City Follies XIV, the high-spirited, vaudevillian variety show that draws inspiration from Bethlehem, a.k.a. "The Christmas City", and the holiday season. Christmas City Follies XIV will run from December 5-22.

Natya Dance Theatre Presents World Premiere THE SEVENTH LOVE Tonight

Natya Dance Theatre, Chicago's critically-acclaimed and longest running Dance Company rooted in the Indian dance-theater technique of Bharata Natyam, returns to the Harris Theater with the World Premiere of The Seventh Love, an exploration of love in eastern teachings based on the life of the god Krishna. The Seventh Love is conceived by Natya Associate Artistic Director Krithika Rajagopalan in collaboration with David Kersnar, a founding member of Chicago's Tony Award-winning Lookingglass Theatre, and is written and directed by Kersnar and choreographed by Natya Founder and Artistic Director Hema Rajagopalan. Natya presents The Seventh Love in one performance only at the Harris Theater, 205 E. Randolph Street, tonight, November 2 at 7:30 pm.

Pontine Presents California-Based Independent Eye Theatre Ensemble's GIFTS, 11/7-10

November 7-10, Pontine Theatre kicks off its 36th season with performances by California-based artists, Conrad Bishop and Elizabeth Fuller, in their original production, GIFTS at Pontine's West End Studio Theatre, 959 Islington St, Portsmouth NH. Mr. Bishop and Ms. Fuller are the founding directors of The Independent Eye Theatre, located in Sabastopol, California. Performances are offered on Thursday and Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 4pm, and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $24 and may be purchased online: www.pontine.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door (cash & checks only) a half-hour prior to each performance, based on availability. Guest artist accommodations for this production are provided by Best Western Plus Wynwood Hotel & Suites.

Sandglass Presents Finn Campman of Company of Strangers in Of Bread and Paper October 11-12

Sandglass Theater's New Visions Puppetry Series welcomes the return of Finn Campman's Of Bread and Paper. This evocative piece, which played to sold-out audiences at the 2012 Puppets in the Green Mountains festival, invites you to enter a world of light and shadow where layers of meaning are glimpsed and gradually revealed. Performances are Friday and Saturday, October 11th and 12th at 7:30pm. Tickets are $16 general and $13 for students and seniors.

Touchstone Theatre Concludes First Season of Partnerships with Local Businesses

Touchstone Theatre is proud to announce the ending of its first successful year (2012-13) as a recipient of Education Improvement Tax Incentive monies (EITC). In partnership with Air Products, Lafayette Ambassador Bank, Capital Blue Cross, Embassy Bank, PPL and PNC Bank, Touchstone's Young Playwrights and Building Bridges educational programs helped advance literacy and the acquisition of life skills for hundreds of students in the Lehigh Valley.

American Players Theatre (APT) announces its 2013 Season, which runs tonight, June 8 to October 20, 2013, and includes the first indoor Shakespeare production of the company's history: an intimate adaptation of Antony and Cleopatra by heralded off-Broadway actor and playwright James DeVita and director Kate Buckley, presented in the 200-seat Touchstone Theatre. DeVita, one of APT's Core Company members, recently completed a critically acclaimed run of his solo show In Acting Shakespeare at the Pearl Theater in New York.

Touchstone Theatre Presents World Premiere Work of Young Playwrights, 5/18

Touchstone Theatre will be presenting the eighth year of its acclaimed Young Playwrights' Festival, a showcase of new plays written by local elementary and middle school students, on May 18 at Zoellner Arts Center's Baker Hall. Immediately following the performance will be a gala reception in the Lehigh University Art Galleries.

Continuing its 25th Anniversary Season, Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Still Alice, adapted and directed by Ensemble Member Christine Mary Dunford, based on the novel by Lisa Genova. The production runs now through May 19, 2013 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. ULYSSES DREAMS Premieres at Touchstone Theatre Tonight

This April, Touchstone Theatre premiers an original work entitled Ulysses Dreams: an exploration of origin and destiny on the South Bethlehem Greenway. Based on the classical text of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, the play runs tonight, April 13-21 and features original music and poetic text by Jp Jordan and Christopher Shorr, as well as choreography created by Bill George, Gus Ripa, and the Touchstone creative family.
