Mitchell-Innes & Nash presents an exhibition of paintings by Julian Stanczak focusing on the artist's evocations of natural phenomena, energy and light. This is the gallery's first solo exhibition of Stanczak's work, which includes a dozen large-scale paintings spanning the artist's career from the 1960s to the present and will include works not seen publically in decades. The exhibition will be on view from October 30 through December 6, 2014.

In conjunction with William Anastasi: Sound Work, 1963-2013 the Hunter College Art Galleries will present an evening devoted to sound-based art. The evening's program will feature a panel discussion dedicated to an engagement with the broad theories and practice of sound based art. The panelists include curator and critic Robert Storr, Barbara London, former Associate Curator in the Department of Media and Performance Art at The Museum of Modern Art, artist Robert Barry, and artist Stephen Vitiello and will be moderated by Max Weintraub, exhibition curator and Assistant Visiting Professor at Hunter College. The evening will close with a conversation between William Anastasi and art historian Charles Stuckey.
MoMA Announces SCULPTURE GARDEN MORNINGS, 9/9

Beginning September 9, The Museum of Modern Art's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden will be open free of charge to the general public daily, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., allowing New Yorkers and visitors alike to start their day in one of the city's most beloved outdoor spaces. The public can enter the Sculpture Garden directly through the west gate on West 54 Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues, or through the main lobby entrances on West 53 and West 54 streets. Coffee and beverages will be available for purchase.

Andrea Rosen Gallery will be postponing the opening of its Cellblock I & Cellblock II exhibition, curated by Robert Hobbs, that was scheduled to open on November 3rd. At this stage, the gallery is hopeful to be back open in approximately two-to-three weeks' time. The gallery will send an updated announcement as it learns more information. In the meantime, Andrea Rosen Gallery's thoughts and best wishes go out to all who have been affected by the storm.

Andrea Rosen Gallery has announced Cellblock I and Cellblock II, two group exhibitions - both curated by Robert Hobbs -that are intertwined yet distinctly separate in their intention. The exhibitions open November 3, 2012 at the Gallery's main space at 525 West 24th Street, as well as inaugurating its new, second location, at 544 West 24th Street.
