The Lawrence and Isabel Barnett Center for Integrated Arts and Enterprise and The Arts Initiative present a panel discussion with Blake Byrne, collector, Open This End; Ron Pizzuti, collector, The Pizzuti Collection; and Garry Jenkins, associate dean for Academic Affairs and professor of law. The panel will be moderated by Wayne Lawson director emeritus, Ohio Arts Council, and professor, Arts Administration, Education and Policy.

Part of the Barnett Speakers Series, the event takes place tonight, Sept. 24, 4:30-6 p.m. at the Barnett Center for Integrated Arts and Enterprise, Sullivant Hall, 1813 N. High St. The discussion is free and open to all, but an RSVP is requested. RSVP here.

The panel is presented in collaboration with the exhibition, Open This End: Contemporary Art from the Collection of Blake Byrne, which features a collection of work from renowned artists spanning the past 50 years, including works by Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, Mike Kelley, David Hammons, Tony Smith and many others. The panel addresses the role of philanthropy in the arts, and art in a community.

The exhibition is open through Nov. 7 at Urban Arts Space, 50 W. Town St.; Hopkins Hall Gallery, 128 N. Oval Mall; and on the façade of the former Long's Bookstore at 15th and High Street. An exhibition reception will be held Sept. 25, 6-8 p.m. at Urban Arts Space. For information about the exhibition, visit the Urban Arts Space website.
