Paper Mill Playhouse just opened the world-premiere musical Ever After, directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It), featuring a book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich. In a recent article for the Bergen Record, lyricist Heisler explained: 'Broadway is not the goal, a great show is the goal.' The show's composer Goldrich continued: 'We don't get to decide whether it's commercial, We only get to decide whether it sounds good to us. You try to write something you would like to see, and you hope others will, too.'
