Palm Springs International Comedy Festival launches on October 11 with over 200 streaming films, over 180 comedians, over 75 celebrities.

The Palm Springs International Comedy Festival announced today that the PSICF 'Stanley Kramer Mad World Comedy Award' will go to Director, Writer (Midnight Run) George Gallo's new all-male comedy ensemble film 'The Comeback Trail' which stars Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones, Zach Braff, Emile Hirsch, and Eddie Griffin.

And wea??ve got a variety of online stream-from-home offerings, including the new Our Stage Onscreen Digital Series at Aurora Theatre, a series that brings performing arts to homebound season supporters and new audiences while providing a safe workspace for Atlanta theatre artists. The inaugural offering, streaming now through October 4 for a hefty $30 rental fee, is Barbaraa??s Blue Kitchen, a fun - if slightly underbaked - musical with a book, music, and lyrics by Lori Fisher. The small-cast musical works hard to conjure up a slice of homespun Southern life through portraits of workers and customers in a small Southern diner. A brave Chloe Kay, the actor who plays all of the characters in the diner, works hard to deliver an engaging evening of for-the-screen theater, but this first outing is hindered by technical challenges and, regrettably, by the fact that producing theater specifically for the screen is a tricky tricky business.

RUSSO BROS. PIZZA FILM SCHOOL will air this Friday, July 3, at 12PM PT / 3PM ET on IGTV.  The weekly show on Instagram TV and YouTube created and hosted by Joe and Anthony Russo (The Russo Brothers) aims to educate and spread some love to favorite classic films, as well as local pizzerias while movie lovers are stuck at home during the pandemic.  The Bros will assign a movie for the class every week, and tune in with guests to talk about how different flicks have transformed their relationship to cinema, while enjoying pizza from a local pizzeria.

After allowing audience members to vote on which Buntport classics they would like to see return to the stage, we are finally ready to announce that we will be remounting three productions in the lead up to the debut of our 50th full-length play at the end of our 20th season. Based on the tallies from both the on-line and in-person voting systems, we will be bring back Moby Dick Unread, Titus Andronicus! The Musical!, and Tommy Lee Jones Goes to Opera Alone. Other crowd favorites that made the top ten will be our first choices when remounting in future seasons.

In the play by the new playwright, a lawyer is tasked with representing a black teenager accused of murder. In her search for the truth, she is forced to face her own devastating truths about marriage, race and the woman she's chosen to be.

Brad Pitt gives a powerful performance in this “absolutely enthralling” (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone), sci-fi thriller set in space. When a mysterious life-threatening event strikes Earth, astronaut Roy McBride (Pitt) goes on a dangerous mission across an unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father (Tommy Lee Jones) and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe.

Shout! Factory TV, the digital entertainment streaming service, is set to launch its first original digital docuseries CULT-TASTIC: TALES FROM THE TRENCHES WITH ROGER AND JULIE CORMAN. Created, written and co-produced by Ashley Sidaway and Robert Sidaway, the 13-part series about the life and work of Roger and Julie Corman, provides viewers an extraordinary look inside the Cormans' cinematic universe and features extensive in-depth interviews.
