GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum alt-pop band, Plain White T's, are excited to announce that they will be releasing their highly anticipated eighth studio album, Parallel Universe (produced by Matt Squire [Ariana Grande, Panic! At The Disco)] via Fearless Records on August 24th!  The new album follows their 2015 independent release American Nights and marks their return to Fearless after 13 years. The band's endlessly hummable signature melodies still shine at the center of this galaxy, but their Universe morphed into an otherworldly atmosphere of ethereal electronic pop strengthened by lush guitar tones and synth transmissions. The Lark Theater presents Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Live Concert Film Distant Sky. Recorded at Copenhagen's Royal Arena in October 2017, Distant Sky captures an extraordinary and triumphant live concert featuring the band's new album, Skeleton Trees, alongside their essential catalogue. The band's first shows in 3 years provoked an ecstatic response in fans, critics and band alike, renewing a profound and intimate relationship wherever they played. The band's acclaimed tour started in Australia in January 2017 before tearing across the USA and ending in Europe, with some of the best reviews of their decorated career.

SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway officially opened just last night, December 4th, at The Palace Theatre. SpongeBob SquarePants is a new musical with a book by Kyle Jarrow, music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Tom Kitt, choreography by Christopher Gattelli, and conceived and directed by Tina Landau.

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this month, following a critically lauded run in Chicago during Summer 2016, SpongeBob SquarePants will open on Broadway at The Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway - Broadway at 47th Street) this Fall. Preview performances begin Monday, November 6th with an official opening on Monday, December 4th.

High School Nation, the country's largest secondary school touring music festival, announced today that it has begun building professional recording studios in high schools across the country. The organization has pledged over $1.5 million this year in funding, as well as instruments, gear and components from high-end equipment manufacturers to outfit professional studios in each of the schools it visits. Sixty schools will receive the equipment for fully functioning studios which be rolled out this year as part of the annual High School Nation Festival Tours.

Celebrated rock 'n' roll band Plain White T's will perform a two-night engagement at the iconic Cleopatra's Barge at Caesars Palace with a unique acoustic show March 30 and 31, 2017.

The SpongeBob Musical just celebrated its opening last night, June 19th, at Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL) for its pre-Broadawy run through July 10, 2016. BroadwayWorld has photos of the cast and creative team celebrating the big evening below!

On Friday, March 22 ONE DROP partnered with MGM Resorts International and Lamborghini to present One Night for ONE DROP, a global philanthropy event to raise funds and awareness to ensure water is accessible across the globe. This was the first time all seven Cirque du Soleil resident productions closed their doors to become one for ONE DROP - the non-profit organization established by Cirque du Soleil Founder Guy Laliberte - at the 'O' Theatre at Bellagio Resort & Casino.
