The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced the nominations for the 2019 Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Television Craft Awards. These awards reward the very best in television craft and television programmes broadcast in the UK in 2018. The Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 12 May with the British Academy Television Craft Awards taking place two weeks earlier on Sunday 28 April at The Brewery, London.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present 'A Trip to the Moon' (1902) on Tuesday, September 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. This historic touchstone film by Georges Méliès's will be screened in its original hand-colored version direct from its re-premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this May.

Mendes Signs on for Shaiman and Wittman's 'WILLY WONKA' Stage Musical

Deadline.com is reporting that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, written by Tony Award-winning composing team Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman now has a committment from director Sam Mendes to helm a stage musical version of the children's classic. The show is now aiming to open in time for the 2011 holiday season in London, followed by Broadway.
