The 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration, coordinated by the MLK Steering Committee, will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. The program will begin at 1:00 PM in Uihlein Hall and highlight our youth who interpreted Dr. King's works through art, speech and writing contests.

Pabst Opens Milwaukee Craft Brewery and Beer Garden

The Pabst Brewing Company is excited to announce the official opening of Pabst Milwaukee Brewery, the company's first craft brewery. A firkin keg tapping and blue ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for later this afternoon with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, Pabst Chairman Eugene Kashper, and Pabst CEO Simon Thorpe. The brewery's public opening is slated for Friday, April 14 at 11 a.m. (Milwaukee Day '4/14'). Pabst will also host a grand opening celebration and street festival on May 13 from 1 to 7 p.m. The festival will feature outdoor performances from a wide variety of leading local bands, as well as games, art activities, food, and of course, Pabst Milwaukee Brewery beer.

Opening night at the Pabst Theatre this December celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Milwaukee Rep's A Christmas Carol. The city's mayor Tom Barrett was on hand with an executive from Wells Fargo, the production's corporate sponsor. Each man echoed that theater, especially this longstanding tradition of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, creates family memories that last a lifetime and brings the community together.
