Signature Theatre to Unveil 42 Street Intersection as Jim Houghton Way

On the afternoon of October 4, Signature Theatre will unveil the 42nd Street and Dyer Avenue intersection in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood as the newly co-named Jim Houghton Way, celebrating the groundbreaking company’s founder, James Houghton (1958-2016).

Signature Theatre will present Quiara Alegría Hudes’ My Broken Language, the acclaimed playwright’s stage adaptation of her eponymous memoir, and her return to Signature for the second play in her Premiere Residency. My Broken Language takes place Oct 18-Nov 27, 2022 in the Pershing Square Signature Center’s Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre.

Signature Theatre Announces Timothy J. McClimon as New Executive Director

Signature Theatre, the nationally influential Off-Broadway theater, has announced Timothy J. McClimon, currently the organization's Interim Executive Director, to the permanent role of Executive Director, in which he will continue to serve alongside Artistic Director Paige Evans, beginning July 1.

OPERA America Selects 15 Participants For Its 2020 Leadership Intensive Program 

OPERA America is pleased to announce the 15 participants from the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America who have been selected for its 2020 Leadership Intensive program. These future industry leaders were chosen from a pool of 44 candidates through a competitive selection process focusing on candidates' potential to make significant contributions to the opera field. The program was generously established with the continued support of the American Express Foundation.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts today announced this summer's Mostly Mozart Festival, running from July 10 through August 10, 2019. Harnessing Mozart's innovative spirit as its inspiration, the 2019 festival builds upon the expanded scope established last summer with groundbreaking, international multidisciplinary productions, acclaimed artists of all genres, introductions to emerging creative voices, commissions and premieres, and the presentation of new work and ideas. Second Stage Theater, now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, just hosted their Fall Benefit yesterday at Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street), honoring Tony Award winner and Second Stage Theater alum Harvey Fierstein. The evening featured performances and appearances by Cyndi Lauper, Billy Porter, Rosie O'Donnell, Annaleigh Ashford, Keala Settle, Wayne Brady, Christopher Sieber, Michael Urie and Marissa Jaret Winokur and the original Hairspray Dynamites.

New Board Members Join Team at Second Stage Theater

Currently celebrating its 40th Anniversary Season, Second Stage Theater has announced that Terry Lindsay, a current Trustee of the Board, and Timothy J. McClimon, Trustee and President, American Express Foundation and Senior Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility, American Express, have been elected as Co-Chairs of Second Stage's Board of Trustees, effective September 1, 2018. Additionally, Laurie Erlandson and Peter Lichtenthal have both been voted on as new members of the Board of Trustees. Former Chairman Stephen C. Sherrill will remain on the Board, joining Tony Kiser as a Chairman Emeritus.
