Influenced by imagery from Victorian patterns, letterpress printing, archetypal symbols, and apocalyptic themes, artist Beau Stanton – fresh from a massive commissioned mural for Dubai Walls – is known for his deeply metaphorical oil paintings that fuse these elements with modern environmental realities. Antony Nagelmann leads a journey across the Atlantic Ocean in a sailboat and imparts the extreme experiences and emotion faced along the way in The Odyssey, which will be shown on Times Square's electronic billboards from 11:57 pm to midnight from December 1 to 30. The footage was shot in Progressive HD taking advantage of the technology that only the signs in Times Square can offer. Times Square Arts announced today the artists that will participate in their Residency at the Crossroads program for Fall 2015 and Winter 2015-2016. This fall's residency by writer, performer and choreographer Okwui Okpokwasili, in partnership with New York Foundation for the Arts, will explore the potential of creating one song from the disparate collection of voices that converge on Times Square. During the Winter of 2015-2016, as part of a six-month partnership with Eyebeam, composer Kenneth Kirschner & visualist and software designer Joshue Ott will develop a smartphone app that transforms the way that one sees and hears Times Square and other urban places.

Times Square Alliance and Make Music New York have partnered on a special edition of Times Square NYC: Music at the Crossroads. The series of free, outdoor concerts on the Broadway Pedestrian Plazas in Times Square will take place weekdays from June 2-19 and will feature musicians from all five boroughs highlighting the diversity of the music scene in NYC. All participants will also be a part of Make Music New York on June 21.

The Times Square Alliance announced today that Solstice in Times Square, now in its 13th year, will take place Sunday, June 21. The Times Square Alliance and presenting sponsor Athleta, a premier fitness and lifestyle apparel brand exclusively for women who live life on the go, will offer free “Mind Over Madness” yoga classes to celebrate the longest day of the year, June 21, beginning with the first class at 9:00 am. The free yoga classes will continue throughout the day until 7:00 pm – just before sunset.

The Times Square Alliance announces the return of Taste of Times Square - an outdoor food and music festival - featuring international flavors from the district's top restaurants and the city's best street performers at the Crossroads of the World. More than fifty of Times Square's most popular culinary destinations will offer "tastes" ranging from $2-$6 on Monday, June 1 from 5:00 - 9:00pm. The event will be on 46th St. between Broadway and 9th Avenue (including historic Restaurant Row) as well as the Broadway Plazas between 45th and 47th Streets.
