Returning for its ninth year, Make Music New York will celebrate music on a grand scale with a mix of over 1,200 free, outdoor concerts throughout all five boroughs on the first day of summer. MMNY coincides with Make Music Day, the world's largest annual music event celebrated in more than 20 cities around the U.S., and a highlight of the international Fête de la Musique, taking place in 700 cities across 120 countries.

Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance, said, "This summer we're helping New Yorkers take back Times Square using the incredible platform of the Broadway Plazas to showcase the best of NYC culture to those who live and work in the district. Make Music New York is an exemplary partner for this because they are plugged into the diverse community of musicians that New York City has to offer."

Aaron Friedman, President of Make Music New York said, "New York City remains the world's music capital, as demonstrated by the staggering number of talented musicians who join Make Music New York each year. This month we are excited to invite sixteen ensembles from every musical persuasion to the Crossroads of the World, and showcase the amazing work they will bring to the five boroughs on June 21st.
