Throughout July, the 'Times Square Moment: A Digital Gallery' is lighting up New York City's iconic digital signs with unique works by three artists who have recently won an international contest organized by Chashama and Artists Wanted.

Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, organizers of Times Square New Year's Eve, today announced that there are 19 days left for the public to submit their New Year's Eve wishes at the Times Square Visitor Center, located on Seventh Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets, or online at www.TimesSquareNYC.org. Wishes collected at the Center and online will become part of the confetti that flutters down at midnight in Times Square on New Year's Eve 2012. Stars who have contributed personal wishes to help celebrate the countdown to 2012 include Mayor Bloomberg, Robert De Niro, Jessica Biel, Matthew Broderick, Abigail Breslin, Hot Chelle Rae, Brian Williams, Sanjay Gupta MD, Wendy Williams, Carson Daly, and Jake T. Austin.

The architechts that created the SEmpember 11 Memorial have now moved on to a new plan to redesign Times Square. Though plans have not yet been finalized, construction would begin in Fall 2012 and be complete by 2014. Check out a photo of the design below!

The Times Square Alliance announced today that Times Square will celebrate marriage equality with special deals from more than two-dozen local businesses. These special offers include discount hotel stays, up to 40% off of select Broadway shows, and pride packages at Times Square venues to help welcome all couples to celebrate their love at the Crossroads of the World.

The 65th Annual Tony Awards will be simulcast live to Times Square on Sunday, June 12th. The Tony Awards, in partnership with the Times Square Alliance and Clear Channel Spectacolor, in addition to simulcast co-sponsors, Daktronics Inc., Cohen & Perfetto LLP and the Broadway Association, will air the Tony Awards Red Carpet courtesy of NY1 and the entirety of the Tony Awards show, including the Creative Arts Awards, on Clear Channel's SpectacolorHD screen in Times Square on Sunday, June 12th, from 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

According to the NY Post, beginning this summer, Ties Square's pedestrian zones will be transformed into sidewalk cafes, in an attempt to bring more dining options to the area. A recent propsals request asked for plans in which up to five vendors could serve guests at the 100 tables in the area.

According to DNAinfo, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will remain rerouted this year. Back in 2009, the parade avoided Broadway beause of Times Square's pedestrian area and moved to Seventh Ave. According to City Hall's Evelyn Erskine, the changes will remain in effect this year.

Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe and Cultural Affairs Commissioner Kate Levin today unveiled a new plaque at the TKTS booth in Duffy Square, honoring the site's history and recent restorations, while also lauding the efforts of Mayor John V. Lindsay. Mayor Lindsay was a passionate supporter of the Broadway Theatre and was instrumental in the creation of the original TKTS booth with the Theatre Development Fund in 1973, making Duffy Square ever since a destination point for those in search of reduced-price theater tickets. Also in attendance at today's unveiling were State Assembly Member Richard Gottfried; Broadway producer Hal Prince, who is Chair of the Theatre Industry Committee to Honor John Lindsay; as well as leaders of the Times Square Alliance, Theatre Development Fund, Broadway League, Broadway Association, and members of Mayor Lindsay's family.
